SonySony DSLR-A380 test photos : The introduction and availability of the Sony Alpha A380 digital SLR camera make it the successor to the Alpha A350. With the Sony DSLR-A380, a new era begins for the Alpha DSLR camera. A new design, more modern and clearly more Sony-like, a new user interface and support for the Secure Digital / Secure Digital High Capacity (SDHC) memory card format, which does not come as a surprise. The Sony DSLR-A380 is a 14.2 Megapixel digital SLR featuring an advanced Live View function. In Sony's case, Live View means no annoying delays, which also goes for the Sony DSLR-A380, thanks to the Quick AF Live View functionality. The new user interface is refreshing, and novices will more than likely benefit from this.

Sony DSLR-A380 review
Like its predecessor, the Sony Alpha DSLR-A380 features a vari-angle LCD monitor. The clear 2.7 inch LCD monitor is able to tilt up- and downwards which facilitates shooting from difficult angles. Just like all Sony Alpha DSLR cameras, the Sony A380 DSLR is equipped with the SteadyShot INSIDE function. This image stabilization system corrects camera shake for handheld pictures if a tripod is not around. All Sony Alpha lenses can be mounted to the Sony A380 digital SLR.

Naturally, the Sony DSLR-A380 is equipped with the BIONZ processor. This powerful tool adds to the fast response time of the Sony A380, enabling a frame rate of 2.5fps. When the Sony DSLR-A380 is set to Live Mode, a speed of 2fps is enabled. Mind you, these are the same specifications as those of its predecessor. The big difference is in the different design, support for Secure Digital / SDHC and an improved user interface.

The Sony DSLR-A380 sample test photos were taken in the centre of Amsterdam, the Netherlands with a full production digital SLR camera which means that this camera is equal to the model that the consumer can expect to purchase. Our DIWA camera test lab will soon test the Sony Alpha A380 camera under laboratory circumstances from a technical viewpoint. The next few weeks we will test the Sony DSLR-A380 camera in practice and come up with a review soon. To download the original Sony Alpha SLR test photos, click on the link below photos.
