Fujifilm F200EXR review - Digital camera housing
Our Fujifilm F200EXR test sample is silver-colored and blends in with the crowd. Fujifilm has taken a more conservative approach when it comes to design, and gave the camera a rather standard appearance. In fact, not very striking at all, but that certainly doesn’t downgrade the camera in any way. I just feel that Fujifilm could have made more of an effort when it comes to the design, with a splash of color here and there, or a stripe or edge on the front or back. After all, everybody wants a little eye-candy every now and then! On the other hand, many photographers will find appearance the least important factor, and will simply look for a camera which does what the marketing machine promises.
Fujifilm F200EXR test - Zoom lens & LCD monitor
The response of the Fujifilm FinePix F200EXR when activated is average. It takes around 2 seconds. The zoom lens itself is a lot faster, from wide angle to telephoto only takes a mere second. You can make a reasonably precise composition with the Fujifilm FinePix F200EXR in 14 stops. The ring encircling the shutter release has a short rotation, which works pleasantly well in practice. The monitor on the back of the camera has nice large dimensions with a 3 inch diameter. The reproduction is fine and the 230,000 pixels serve well to be able to judge the quality of the pictures. Even in bright sunlight, for example on a sunny day in Death Valley where I took several sample pictures with the F200EXR, the monitor still provides a good view to work with.
Fujifilm F200 EXR review including a DIWA Labs test
During my stay in Las Vegas (PMA 2009) I took some sample pictures, after which the SDHC card was filled entirely with even more pictures, in order to be evaluated later. Additionally, the Fujifilm FinePix F200EXR was extensively tested as for technical qualities in our Norwegian DIWA Lab managed by Kai Thon. The test procedures are standardized and are an excellent combination, together with the tests in practice, to be able to come to a final conclusion. Our findings can be read in the following Fujifilm F200EXR review.
