 Canon A2100 IS test photos : Among the new series of digital cameras introduced by Canon just before the start of the PMA, is the new Canon PowerShot A2100 IS. The Canon A2100 IS replaces the A2000 and features a 6x optical zoom. In addition, this camera is equipped with a powerful DIGIC-4 processor which carries out complex image editing techniques. The PowerShot A-series has been on the market for quite a number of generations now, and has proven quite successful indeed. The Canon A2100 IS has an appealing price/quality ratio, and the beginning photographer will obtain a full camera that is able to take a good quality picture with the least of effort put into it. Canon's Optical Image Stabilizer technology prevents motion blur.

Canon PowerShot A2100 IS digital camera
The new Canon PowerShot A2100 IS digital compact camera features two fully automatic modes; the new Smart Auto mode and an improved Easy mode. These modes use Canon's Scene detection technology that analyzes the scene you want to capture to its finest detail - brightness, contrast, distance and color of subject - and will then select the best fitting program for the scene from 18 available programs. The large-sized 3 inch monitor provides excellent reproduction of the captured pictures.

Automation usually provides more ease; a feature that also goes for the Canon A2100 IS. The DIGIC-4 processor of the Canon PowerShot A2100 IS introduces new techniques such as motion detection and advanced face detection technology. The motion detection technology prevents blur by registering the motions of the camera or the subject, and compensates these by adjusting the settings. Face detection technology detects up to 35 faces in a picture and adjusts the focus and exposure to ensure every person is best captured in the picture.
