NikonNikon D5000 sample photo gallery : A few days ago, we received a full production Nikon D5000 digital SLR camera. We took the first sample pictures and started working on a full Nikon D5000 SLR review. The Nikon D5000 is Nikon's latest digital SLR camera targeting the hobby and amateur photographer. This camera finds itself in between the Nikon D60 and D90 DSLR. It features the latest innovative techniques from both; the D90 and the professional Nikon D3 as well. The 12 Megapixel resolution is excellent for high quality prints and a standard ISO range of 200 - 3200 (expandable to 100 and 64000 ISO) provides shooting in various circumstances. Additionally the Nikon D5000 is able to capture High Definition video clips.

The 2.7 inch swivel LCD display is the most striking part of the Nikon D5000 housing. It's a convenient feature allowing you to shoot from difficult angles. It's also the solution to prevent the monitor from getting scratched or damaged by knocks and bumps. All you have to do is simply rotate the monitor and fold it in for it to be effectively protected. The Live View function on the Nikon D5000 D-SLR is enhanced with the AF tracking mode which positively influences the focus speed. The Nikon D5000 body inherited the 3D tracking AF option from the Nikon D3 which is a professional solution providing optimal focus.

Despite the fact the Nikon D5000 digital SLR camera aims at the entry-level market, it offers many advanced possibilities. The camera features a full auto mode which is enhanced with an array of preset scenes and convenient editing functions. The independent creative photographer can use the P/S/A/M mode and manually set focus and exposure. The seasoned navigation specialist will appreciate the Nikon D5000's navigation support through the GPS receiver.
