PanasonicPanasonic photo contest : Panasonic LUMIX Award celebrates the theme of "The Living Planet". Panasonic Marketing Europe announced the success of its online LUMIX Award digital photo contest for 2008/2009. Closing date of this exciting and popular digital still photography competition is 31 March 2009, whereupon a grand prize and two-runner ups will be selected. First set up in 2002, the LUMIX Award is a European-wide online competition celebrating creativity in digital photography by establishing an interactive platform for digital photographers to share their work with each other and a panel of professional creative directors/photographers.

“The Living Planet" ask participants to submit digital still images that best capture their interpretation of the theme and to demonstrate visually what it means to them. The theme of "The Living Planet” is in context with the ongoing Panasonic commitment to the global environment. Including a respected panel of judges, professional photographer Mark Chilvers blogs on Lumix Award dispensing valuable tips and tricks for digital photography, providing insight on how improve the quality and individuality of their digital still images.

Panasonic LUMIX Award - The Living Planet
“Through the Panasonic LUMIX Award, we encourage digital still photographers to exercise and share their image creativity,” explains Sven Dabelstein, Senior Manager Product Marketing, Optical Products, Panasonic Marketing Europe. The digital still photography competition is open for six months between October - March annually. For this year’s competition, the monthly winner is awarded the Panasonic LUMIX DMC-FZ28 digital still camera. The overall winner of the LUMIX Award will be awarded the Panasonic LUMIX DMC-G1, the first premium digital interchangeable lens camera from Panasonic.
