Fujifilm FinePix S2000HD digital camera review : One month before the kick-off of the Photokina show in Cologne, Germany, Fujifilm introduced a number of new digital cameras among which is the FinePix S2000HD. The Fujifilm FinePix S2000HD is a so-called 'hybrid' camera and is Fujifilm's answer to the increasingly popular digital SLR camera. Unfortunately Fujifilm lacks a broad digital SLR camera line, (the FinePix S5 Pro is the sole model) and Fujifilm fans will have to settle for hybrid Megazoom cameras such as the Fujifilm S2000HD.• Read our full Fujifilm FinePix S2000HD review.

Fujifilm FinePix S2000HD Megazoom camera design
The Fujifilm FinePix S2000HD strongly resembles the design of an SLR. The camera is quite compact with a lightweight chassis which may be a blessing for one person, but not for another; it is certainly a question of personal taste. The S2000HD features a largely molded grip although someone with big hands will soon notice that the distance between the grip and the lens is rather small. Your fingers will likely feel squeezed in between both elements which is rather unpleasant. The light weight of the body is just enough to provide a stable hand-fit. This is important in enabling sufficient stability when shooting.

User friendliness of the Fujifilm S2000HD
Although a Megazoom camera like the Fujifilm FinePix S2000HD usually offers enhanced functionality; ease of use always comes first. Several automatic features prevent common errors such as red eyes, sharpness and shooting situations. Currently a lot of this can be corrected through the hardware and software of the increasingly intelligent software inside the camera. One example is the face detection function of the Fujifilm S2000HD with which the camera identifies and prioritizes up to ten faces in a frame, with automatic red eye removal if required and auto exposure optimization, etc.

Fujifilm S2000HD review
The Fujifilm S2000HD targets low-end of the entry-level consumer market and offers this group a camera a powerful combination of zoom including a stabilization system, compact size, High Definition support and fast-action photography. In particular, the action shooting feature is striking. The camera is able to shoot at a speed of 3.5 frames per second in a resolution of 3 Megapixels. Its ability to shoot extremely fast at a decent resolution makes the Fujifilm FinePix S2000HD stand out from the crowd. Whether these striking features are enough to differentiate it from its tough competition can be read in the following Fujifilm FinePix S2000HD review. |
