New Panasonic Lumix digital cameras at PMA Show 2009 : One of the most striking camera manufacturers of the last few years is Panasonic. The brand once started with a number of digital cameras and then decided on a very clear, well- built-up line of LUMIX cameras. The Panasonic LUMIX compact camera has managed to conquer quite a large part of market share, which we already expected considering its specifications and performance. It's amazing to see that a giant electronics brand like Panasonic grasped the message quite a lot faster than the traditional photo manufacturers. Panasonic soon equipped its LUMIX digital cameras with a MEGA O.I.S. image stabilization system and also the wide angle zoom lens was integrated very early on.

The competitors were left somewhat puzzled, and strangely enough did not respond quickly. Still, we see cameras being launched onto the competing market without optical stabilization, even though this feature is certainly appreciated by the consumer. And the wide angle zoom lens is also still lacking as standard outfit for a camera of competing brands, whereas consumers nowadays also appreciate this feature highly. In short, Panasonic seems to employ the proper visionaries that know how to handle it all.

Panasonic LUMIX DMC-G1 Micro Four Thirds system camera
Still; the success of the Panasonic camera is mainly based on the LUMIX compact camera. The digital SLR camera based on the Four Thirds System was never really convincing. However, since the introduction of the Micro Four Thirds system, Panasonic seems to have the wind behind it. The Panasonic LUMIX G1, awarded with a DIWA Gold Award, was warmly and positively received and achieved excellent test scores worldwide. The Panasonic LUMIX GH1 debuted at the PMA 2009; it's an upgraded G1 that allows for recording videos with stereo sound whilst retaining the autofocus as an important extra feature!

Panasonic Lumix GH1 digital SLR camera
Currently, the Panasonic LUMIX DMC-GH1 is the only system camera in the world with exchangeable lenses that is able to record video with continuous silent focus without hardly any delay. The so-called AF tracking convinces, with which Panasonic gains all credit by being the first to introduce this type of functionality. A lot of attention went to the Micro Four thirds concept, and in addition to the new Panasonic GH1, Panasonic showed a couple of new lenses and a roadmap with future lenses. Also, many demonstrations were held, in which the innovative features of the new LUMIX and GH1 cameras were extensively shown.
