Fujifilm digital cameras at PMA 2009 : As always, Fujifilm had a grand presentation at the PMA with emphasis on printing and other services within the field of photography. Various photo kiosks and minilabs were showcased, and we also came across Fujifilm's 3D concept again. The Fujifilm S5 Pro, which is still very much appreciated by a large group of faithful fans, has disappeared. The fact that Fujifilm is no longer flirting with a digital SLR will not have surprised the attentive reader. The developments did not keep pace with the competition, and depending on third parties, for example for the housing, does not seem ideal. Yet, I can still imagine that Fujifilm will make themselves heard again, perhaps at Photokina 2010.

New Fujifilm cameras
In addition to the kiosk and printing forces, we also find a new line of compact cameras in Fujifilm's booth. The most striking one of the new series is undoubtedly the Fujifilm FinePix F200EXR. (See the preview of this camera) A new compact camera that features the new Super CCD EXR image sensor that might well set a new standard for the dynamic range and the signal/noise ratio of a compact camera. The other specifications don't look so bad either, but with specifications alone, Fujifilm is not able to stand out. It is without question the new Super CCD EXR that will have to do it! One thing Fujifilm is very clear about is the farewell of the xD Picture memory card. The time of this tiny, impossible-to-handle card has simply run out, and can only count on support from Olympus. A small number of Fujifilm cameras still offers support to xD, but these will be the last ones. SDHC has become the standard and with a maximum storage capacity of 32GB, Fujifilm no longer has to worry about storage capacity.
