 Canon PowerShot A2000 IS Gallery : Canon's latest series of PowerShot A cameras has undergone a change, internally as well as externally. The Canon A2000 IS is an entry-level compact camera with emphasis on user-friendliness and simplicity, and has certainly gone through a design change. For example, the handgrip has disappeared and a large-sized screen has replaced the optical viewfinder. Besides all of this, the manual setting possibilities have been restricted considerably, leaving only the long shutter option at hand, which seems to bring about a loss of the unique features of the PowerShot A-cameras. On the other hand, the Canon A2000 offers many innovative image solutions which add to the overall image quality of this camera.

Canon PowerShot A2000 IS digital camera
In addition to the aforementioned changes, the resolution has increased to 10 Megapixels, whilst at the same time the 6x optical zoom lens, inherited from the camera’s predecessor (IXUS 720 IS), has stayed on. The Canon PowerShot A2000 IS camera has been equipped with an image stabilization system ensuring trouble-free use of the zoom in practice whilst keeping the risk of blurred pictures (due to camera movement) to a minimum. The new Easy mode makes the Canon Power-Shot A2000 IS an extremely easy camera to work with, as it even deactivates the most basic buttons. Things were never easier.

Canon's DIGIC III image processor not only manages functions such as Face detection, but also ensures a swift camera response, quick storage of images and advanced noise reduction. The iSAPS technology uses the data collected at the moment of capturing a picture in order to automatically optimize the main settings of the camera. Thanks to many of Canon’s great technologies, such as Face detection technology (including Face Select & Track) and auto red eye reduction, beautiful pictures can be taken without a problem.

The Canon A2000IS sample photos were taken with a full production compact camera which means that this camera is equal to the model that the consumer can expect to purchase. Our DIWA camera test lab has already fully tested the Canon A2000 IS compact camera under laboratory circumstances from a technical viewpoint.
