MotorolaMotorola photo gallery : Whilst working on the upcoming Motorola ZN5 review, we took the ZN5 along to shoot some pictures. At the time of the GSMA (Mobile World Congress) in Barcelona at the beginning of this year, Kodak convincingly showed a new image sensor that we would soon find in a mobile phone. And it is the Motorola ZN5 mobile camphone that features the new Kodak sensor. With the aid of a Pantone Color Viewing Light box, Kodak demonstrated the result of the image quality of this entirely newly developed sensor. The Motorola ZN5 phone offers a resolution of 5 Megapixels and delivers a fine photo result in practice. The built-in Kodak EasyShare software enables in-camera editing of the digital pictures.

The Motorola MotoZine ZN5 mobile camera phone has been equipped with a Kodak KAC-05020 CMOS image sensor, a 1.4 micron sensor and a resolution of 5 Megapixels. The sensor has been specifically developed for a cell phone at which the technique of the sensor should guarantee the obtaining of equal or higher image quality than the larger 1.75 micron CMOS sensors, despite the small pixel format. In addition, the internal picture editing software sharpens the image quality.

There will be more pictures taken whilst testing, however, for now the pictures look excellent for a 5 Megapixel cameraphone. Even the most difficult pictures with lots of back lighting are anticipated well. And as far as color reproduction is concerned, the Motorola has a fairly neutral reproduction. The auto white balance responses reasonable to good; manual white balance setting unfortunately doesn't belong to the possibilities. The sample photos were taken in the neighborhood of the AJAX soccer stadium called the Arena in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The test photos were taken with a full production Motorola ZN5 camera phone.
