Samsung LED lighting modules

Mark Peters : 2017-08-25 08:15:00
Samsung Q-series LED lighting modules announced : Samsung Semiconductor, a premium vendor in advanced digital component solutions, recently announced the launch of the Q-series, a new line-up of LED linear modules for use in premium indoor LED applications where an exceptionally high level of light efficacy is required. The Samsung LED Q-series features 200 lumens per watt (lm/W) of light efficacy, which is the highest efficacy level among current LED linear modules. The new modules are the first to incorporate the LM301B, Samsung’s recently announced mid-power LED package. This allows LED lighting fixtures using the new modules to reach more than 150lm/W, enabled through an optical efficiency level of approximately 86 percent and LED driver efficiency of about 88 percent.

Samsung LTE modem technology

Samsung LTE modem supports 6CA carrier aggregation : Samsung Electronics, a premium supplier in semiconductor technology, proudly announced that it has developed LTE modem technology for the company’s next-generation mobile processors that supports 6CA (carrier aggregation) for the first time in the industry. The new modem technology has successfully achieved a maximum downlink speed of 1.2 gigabits per second. Earlier this year, the Samsung Exynos 9 Series (8895) SoC presented its Cat.16 LTE modem with 1.0 gigabit (Gb) downlink speed and the industry’s first 5CA support. By working closely with Anritsu, a telecommunication measuring instrument provider, Samsung’s new Cat.18 6CA-supported LTE modem technology achieves up to 1.2Gbps downlink speed.

Toshiba unveils world's first QLC 3D flash memory

Mark Peters : 2017-06-28 08:08:00
Toshiba 3D flash memory technology announcement : Toshiba Memory Corporation, the world leader in memory solutions, proudly announced development of the world’s first BiCS FLASH three-dimensional (3D) flash memory with a stacked cell structure. The newest BiCS FLASH device from Toshiba is the first to deliver 4-bit-per-cell (quadruple-level cell, QLC) technology, advancing capacity beyond that of triple-level cell (TLC) devices and pushing the boundaries of flash memory technology. Multi-bit cell flash memories store data by managing the number of electrons in each individual memory cell. Achieving QLC technology posed a series of technical challenges, as increasing the number of bit-per-cell by one within same electron count requires twice the accuracy of TLC technology.

Samsung LED technology enables ambient lighting

Mark Peters : 2017-06-16 07:00:00
Samsung LED modules reaches 220 lumens per watt : Samsung Electronics, a global manufacturer in advanced components and semiconductor products, recently announced that it has begun mass producing a new mid-power LED package, the Samsung LM301B, which features the industry’s highest luminous efficacy of 220 lumens per watt. The package is well suited for a range of LED lighting applications including ambient lighting, downlights and most retrofit lamps. Samsung was able to achieve its industry-leading efficacy (@ 65mA, 5000K, CRI 80+) by incorporating an advanced flip-chip package design and state-of-the-art phosphor technology. The LM301B’s flip-chip design uses a highly reflective layer-formation technology to enhance light efficacy at the chip level.

Samsung premium infinity display

Mark Peters : 2017-06-06 00:45:00
Samsung premium infinity smartphone display : Samsung Electronics explains the power of its infinity display. The Infinity Display, with its continuous surface, and absence of buttons and harsh angles, is perhaps the most visibly distinct attribute of the new Galaxy S8 smartphone series. But there’s a lot more to its stunning screen than meets the eye. In fact, it represents new heights in technology, UX design and viewing experience - all the result of Samsung’s dedication to creating meaningful, user-inspired technology. According to Seungjun Hyun of Samsung Mobile’s Global Product Planning Group, the 'paradox of size' is still a primary dilemma for smartphone users. They want a premium mobile device with a screen large enough to view more content with less distractions, but also one with a compact form factor that fits comfortably in one hand.
