Canon supports Center for Missing & Exploited Children : Canon U.S.A hosted the Company's annual Promotional Night at Yankee Stadium on July 1 with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and the New York Yankees. During a pre-game ceremony before the Yankees' game against Tampa Bay, Ana Tavares, vice president, Finance & Accounting, Canon U.S.A., presented John Walsh, co-founder of NCMEC and John Arnos, NCMEC advisor, with a check in the amount of $508,213, representing the cumulative total of monetary and product donations Canon assisted in raising in 2014. As part of the celebration, the first 18,000 fans that entered the stadium received a Canon and Yankees branded baseball cap.

Print Solution for Android KitKat and HP Slate devices : Canon, a leader in digital imaging solutions, announced Canon Print Service, a mobile print offering that enables users to print from any Android version 4.4 KitKat enabled devices as well as select HP Slate devices to select Canon models. Canon Print Service works on top of Android’s recently announced printing framework and enables users to print their business documents, personal documents and photographs to Canon printing systems over a wireless network. The addition of Canon Print Service to Canon’s mobile solutions portfolio expands easy Android device printing support. The Android KitKat and HP Slate plug-in plug-in can be downloaded from the Google Play Store.

Canon camera awarded by Industrial Designers Society : Canon announced the company’s PowerShot N digital camera (released in April 2013) has been recognized with the Bronze International Design Excellence Award (IDEA) in the Entertainment category by the Industrial Designers Society of America. Considered the preeminent international design awards competition, the International Design Excellence Awards, launched in 1980, aim to foster business and public understanding of the importance of industrial design excellence to the quality of life and the economy. Products are reviewed based on not only their functions and aesthetic quality, but also such factors as level of innovativeness, as well as benefits to users and to society as a whole.


Canon In Action Tour 2014

Educational Roadshow to help photographers and filmmakers : Canon has kicked off its Canon In Action Tour, an educational road show ideal for advanced amateur D-SLR users and filmmaking enthusiasts. The tour includes live-learning seminars and workshops in several major U.S. cities now through November 23, 2014. Tour attendees will have the opportunity to take part in an in-depth Imaging Essentials Saturday seminar, and/or intensive Sunday training workshops for a nominal fee. The classes are taught by renowned professional image makers Jack Reznicki, Jim DiVitale and Amina Moreau. Reznicki and DiVitale are full-time professional photographers and members of Canon’s acclaimed Explorers of Light program, and Moreau is the co-founder of the Emmy award-winning Stillmotion production company.


25th anniversary of the Canon EOS 1
