Sony NEX-6 review : Sony NEX cameras are compact, mirrorless hybrid cameras with an interchangeable lens. The Sony NEX-6 is one of those compact cameras that deliver DSLR-quality images, thanks to the large APS-C sensor with 16.1 megapixels. The OLED viewfinder and the old, trusted operation buttons are very similar to a Sony DSLR camera, only more compact. Additional functions such as the built-in Wi-Fi functionality make it possible to share photos immediately with a smartphone or tablet. Apps can also be downloaded for the Sony NEX-6. We took the camera with us together with the new 16-50mm pancake kit lens. You can read about our practical experience with this compact system camera in the following Sony NEX-6 review.

Nikon D800 SLR camera review : Before the Nikon D800 was officially introduced last year, there were a lot of rumors going around about a new Nikon Full Frame camera with more than 30 megapixels. For many, it seemed too good to be true, since the now three-year-old Nikon D700 FX-camera has a ‘mere’ 12.1 megapixels. A successor was more than welcome among Nikon fans. With its 36 megapixels, the Nikon D800 is the world’s highest resolution full frame camera and is even a direct competitor of mid-sized cameras. We brought the professional Nikon D800 together with the AF-S Nikkor 24-70mm F2.8G ED and the AF-S Nikkor 12-24mm F2.8G ED with us to the famous Dubai. Read about our experience with the Nikon D800 SLR camera.

Nikon D5200 digital SLR camera review : At the end of last year, Nikon introduced a new mid-range SLR camera. The Nikon D5200 is the successor to the two year older D5100, and it is equipped with a DX-format CMOS sensor with 24.10 megapixels and Nikon’s Expeed 3 image processor. This combination ensures lightning speed image processing and improved image quality. The Nikon D5200 also has the same 39-point AF system as its big brother, the D7000. The RGB light metering sensor with 2.016 pixels is also a new addition. We tried out the new SLR camera together with the AF-S DX Nikkor 18-55 mm 1:3,5-5,6G VR kit lens for a while, and you can read about our experiences in the following Nikon D5200 review.

Sony DSC-RX100 review : With the introduction of the CyberShot DSC-RX100, Sony claimed to launch the best compact camera ever. What makes this camera different from other compact cameras to make Sony’s claim true? The Sony CyberShot DSC-RX100 is a stylishly designed digital camera. Despite the relatively large image sensor, the format is still very compact. The elegant aluminum body has nice rounded corners, and it is comfortable to handle. The Sony DSC-RX100 is an allround camera that is ideal for travel, thanks to its dimensions and weight. It can also be used for street, landscape, and portrait photography. We used the Sony CyberShot DSC-RX100 on New Year’s Eve in Dubai. Our findings of this compact camera are described in the following review.
