Olympic Museum powered by Panasonic visual equipment : Panasonic System Communications Company Europe is pleased to announce a new development in the long-standing partnership with the IOC, as the official Opening Ceremony on 21st December 2013 marks the re-opening of the IOC Olympic Museum to the general public. Based in Lausanne, Switzerland, the museum houses permanent and temporary exhibits relating to sport and the Olympic Games movement. With more than 1,500 exhibit pieces in addition to audio-visuals, multimedia and other speech mediums, the museum is the largest Olympic Games archive in the world and one of Lausanne's prime tourist sites, attracting more than 200,000 visitors each year.


FC Barcelona soccer club teams up with Intel

FC Barcelona and Intel announce partnership agreement : Intel Corporation and FC Barcelona announced a partnership agreement that brings together two brands with shared core values of innovation and performance, as well as to support and improve the communities they serve around the world. The spirit of the partnership is symbolized by the new FC Barcelona jersey, which will feature the Intel logo inside. This is the first-ever placement of a logo inside the club’s jersey. The new jersey was unveiled today at FC Barcelona’s training facilities by Intel’s Conrad; Sandro Rosell, president of FC Barcelona; and FC Barcelona players Gerard Pique and Carles Puyol. The new jersey will be worn beginning in the La Liga match against Villareal on Dec. 14.


New President for Samsung North America

Gregory Lee new President for Samsung North America : Samsung Electronics announced the appointment of Gregory Lee as President of the North America Headquarters in addition to his role as President of Samsung Telecommunications America (STA) effective immediately. In his new role, Lee is responsible for overseeing Samsung businesses across all offices in North America which include Samsung Electronics America, Samsung Telecommunications America, LP and Samsung Electronics Canada, Inc., while still leading STA's mobile business operations and strengthening its leading positions in the smartphone and wireless markets in the U.S.

Samsung begins construction of new R&D center : Samsung Research America (SRA), a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics, announced the groundbreaking for its new 8.5 acre campus in Mountain View (Unites States). With $187.8 billion in sales and 270,000 employees across 79 countries, Samsung Electronics is a global leader in consumer electronics technology that has been a presence in Silicon Valley for more than three decades. The Samsung Research & Development center will provide a state-of-the-art campus that can support the current rapid growth in the organization, and also provide the infrastructure to support Samsung’s open innovation and university collaboration activities.

Samsung Shareholders meeting : Samsung Electronics convened its 44th Annual General Meeting of Shareholders on March 15 at its headquarter in Seocho-dong, Seoul. The meeting was attended by shareholders and institutional investors. Samsung Electronics reported its business performance for 2012. Its consolidated revenue for the full year 2012 reached 201 trillion won and its consolidated operating profit registered 29 trillion won. Agenda items included approval for the 44th financial statements, approval for the appointment of the Board of Directors, and approval for the remuneration ceiling for the Board of Directors. Samsung Electronics will make diverse efforts to fulfill its social responsibilities, including the establishment of a CSR Committee under the Board of Directors.
