Sony XQD S memory card with 168MB/s2 read-write speed : Sports photographers can achieve their best-ever shooting performance this summer with the new XQD S Series memory card from Sony. The high-speed Sony XQD S memory card offers the capacity and reliability that’s demanded by professional photo journalists covering sports and other tough shooting assignments. Offering sustained read/write transfer speeds of 168MB/s, Sony XQD S Series outpaces the maximum interface speed limit of Compact Flash cards (167MB/s). The memory card transfer speeds also slash Personal Computer backup times, boosting workflow for busy journalists and creative professionals facing pressured deadlines. The new Sony memory card is available with 64GB from July 2012.

CES 2012 News - Sony XQD memory card & XQD card reader : Giving professional photographers and photo enthusiasts and a complete new level of high-speed and performance, the new range of Sony XQD memory cards supports the recently adopted XQD specification for high-speed, high-performance digital photography. Using the new Sony XQD memory cards, compatible high-end DSLR (Digital Single Lens Reflex) users can capture up to approximately 100 frames in RAW format in continuous shooting mode. In addition to outstanding high-speed data transfer capability, the new Sony XQD cards are highly reliable to protect users’ data and pictures.
