Sony A33 / A55 Firmware Upgrade : Available beginning June 20th, a firmware update for the Sony A33 and Sony A55 system cameras adds several creative and operational enhancements. The Sony A55 and A33 firmware update includes support for the ‘Picture Effect’ function featured on the newly announced Sony A35 camera. The Sony A55 firmware update supports High-Speed Synch during wireless operation with a compatible external flash. Ergonomics of the Sony A55 and A33 are further improved with revised menus and a new camera mode that lets users switch shooting parameters overlaid on-screen for clear, uncluttered composition. The Sony A33 and Sony A55 camera’s Digital Level Gauge can also be displayed when shooting via the optional CLM-V55

Wimbledon filmed in 3D by Sony : For the first time ever, the finals of Wimbledon, the premier tennis championship in the world will be filmed in 3D and screened live in High Definition 3D to 3D capable cinemas around the world. The live 3D production by Sony, in partnership with the Wimbledon championship host broadcaster the BBC, will also be offered to interested global broadcasters. Sony and The All England Lawn Tennis Club announced their official supplier partnership to bring Wimbledon in 3D to suitably equipped cinemas around the world, offering the perfect opportunity for fans to experience the Championships like never before in a completely new environment, while retaining all the excitement and atmosphere of the famous Centre Court.

Sony Cybershot DSC-HX100V digital camera : As the following information leaked from Sony’s website, and it became within minutes talk of the town, we decided to share this early pre-announcement news with you. Soon, we may expect the launch of the new Sony Cybershot HX100V. This new Sony camera incorporates a mixture of technologies, not only from a regular Cybershot but also from Handycam and Alpha DSLR series. Like some of the Cybershots introduced at CES 2011, the Sony HX100V features a 16.2-megapixel back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS sensor and a powerful BIONZ imaging processor for high-speed signal processing. Furthermore the Sony Cybershot HX100V features a 30x optical zoom (27-810mm: 35mm equiv.) with Hi-speed AF-technology.

The Sony Cybershot HX9V is a compact high resolution camera with 16x optical zoom G Lens and Exmor R CMOS sensor with 16 Megapixels resolution. We assume this Sony HX9V will have somewhat higher specs than the HX7V, so you may expect 3D Still Image mode for taking 3D images, Dual Rec (record) technology for taking still photos during video capture, Intelligent Sweep Panorama, 10fps, and more. The Sony DSC-HX9V features a dedicated still image button and a dedicated movie capture button to make it easy to use for consumers.
