New Pentax Q-mount system camera lenses announced : Hoya Corporation Pentax Imaging System Division has introduced five new interchangeable lenses designed for the recently announced Pentax Q system camera. The system camera features the new Q-mount, Pentax new lenses come in two distinctive series. New Pentax Q-mount lenses for Pentax Q system camera : The Pentax Q digital camera features the newly developed Q-mount, with a mount diameter shortened to approximately two-thirds of that of the conventional Pentax K-mount. This was made possible by reducing the flange back (the distance from the lens mount surface to the image sensor surface) to nearly one-fifth of that of the Pentax K-mount, as well as by optimizing the size of image circle of its lenses to be proportioned to the size of the compact image sensor. The new Pentax Q-mount system also eliminates an optical finder, mirror box, focusing plate and Auto Focus sensor, making the Pentax Q body the smallest & lightest in its class.
