Olympus XZ-1 Photo Gallery : At the Photokina 2010 Olympus showed us an early camera prototype, and of today it has become available too; the Olympus XZ-1 compact camera. An amazing bright, and new developed, iZUIKO lens gives you great brightness across the focal range and combined with the powerful TruePic V processor and extra large 1/1.63-inch CCD sensor, the Olympus XZ-1 becomes a remarkable advanced compact camera. A digital camera for the fan of image quality. The Olympus XZ-1 camera has to face a strong competition, for sure, and is looking for the creative hand of a serious photographer that fits it. The professional, however, will appreciate the Olympus XZ-1 too. Especially its compact camera design is striking!

It was the beginning of a new segment within the DSLR market. This beginning was anything but easy and it took a mere four years before a successor came, which was the E-3. In the meantime, new Four Thirds cameras were introduced by Olympus, but they were aimed at the amateur. The most recent ‘professional’ model is the Olympus E-5.• Read our full Olympus E-5 review.
