The Garmin GPS MAP 62stc and Garmin GPS MAP 62sc outdoor GPS handhelds were unveiled at the Teva Mountain Games in Vail, CO, capping a week of exciting new Garmin outdoor GPS handheld announcements by Garmin that included innovations in the popular Garmin eTrex, Rino and Astro handheld families.

Garmin Rino GPS handhelds with two-way radio system : Garmin announced the redesigned and upgraded Garmin Rino 610, 650 and 655t GPS handhelds with integrated two-way radios. Boasting up to a 20-mile communication range the Garmin Rino 650 and 655t 5-watt FRS / GMRS radios have evolved to include a 2.6” glove-friendly touchscreen and are packed full of powerful features like a barometric altimeter, 3-axis tilt compensated compass and NOAA weather radio. The new Garmin Rino GPS handhelds are expected to be available in the third quarter of 2011. The Garmin Rino 610 and Rino 650 GPS systems have a suggested retail price of $349 and $499.99, respectively. The Garmin Rino 655t GPS handheld has a suggested retail price of $599.99.

Garmin Astro 320 Dog Tracking GPS : Garmin introduced a new Dog Tracker GPS system. The Garmin Astro 320, a new handheld dog tracking receiver. The new Garmin Dog Tracking GPS has features that hunters have been asking for - like increased range, a simplified user interface, and must-have mapping capability. Thanks to an included redesigned GPS antenna, the maximum range between the Garmin Astro 320 and a Garmin Dog tracking collar has been increased by nearly 30% - up to nine miles in flat, unobstructed terrain. Like its predecessor, the Garmin Astro 320 Dog Tracker can track up to 10 dogs per receiver at once, and the unit is fully compatible with Garmin’s DC 20, DC 30, and DC 40 dog tracking collars and accessories.
