Samsung Galaxy Smartphone sales : Samsung announced that its Samsung Galaxy S and Samsung Galaxy S2 smartphones have achieved a combined total of 30 million global sales. The popular Samsung Galaxy S2 smartphone has set a new record for Samsung, generating more than 10 million sales - quicker than any electronic device in Samsung’s history. The Samsung Galaxy S2 Android phone also recently received five out of the total ten Mobile Choice Consumer Awards 2011 in the United Kingdom as well as 2011 Gadget Award for being chosen as the best smartphone of the year by T3, confirming it as a run-away favorite smartphone with consumers this year.

Schneider-Kreuznach member of Micro Four Thirds System : Schneider-Kreuznach has joined the “Micro Four Thirds System Standard Group” – a consortium of companies with the objective of improving the possibilities and quality of compact digital cameras. Developed by Olympus and Panasonic, “Micro Four Thirds” is a standard for lens mounts that is tailored to digital system cameras. “This standard has great potential. It simplifies and improves the options for compact digital cameras and offers an excellent opportunity for the industry as a whole, as well as for us as a lens manufacturer. We are working on a corresponding series of lenses,” says Dr. Josef Staub, CEO of the Schneider Group.
