Plustek OpticFilm 7400 film scanner for amateur photographer : Plustek Technology Inc., a manufacturer of imaging devices (portable scanners, sheet fed/flat bed scanners, wide format scanners) and Network video recorders for IP cameras, announced an extension of the OpticFilm line of scanners with the launch of the Plustek OpticFilm 7400 film scanner, designed to take 35mm film and slides and convert them (at up to 7200 dpi resolution) into digital images - ideal for home users and amateur photographers. The Plustek 7400 scanner features USB 2.0 and is one of the highest resolution film scanners (7200x7200 dpi). The Plustek film scanner is compatible with Windows 2000/XP/Vista and MAC 10.3.9 and higher, including Leopard.

This high-speed CCD scanner with built-in professional film scanning is ideal for consumers interested in preserving their work or family memories in a safe and easy way without sacrificing overall image quality. "When making the decision to purchase a color image scanner, the customer wants to ensure the images or documents being scanned can be accomplished easily while also not having to worry about whether the quality will be up-to-par," said Yuichi Ishizuka, executive vice president and general manager, Consumer Imaging Group, Canon U.S.A.

Digitize pictures with Epson photo scanners : Building on its heritage of manufacturing industry-leading digital imaging products, Epson announced two all-purpose scanners that provide unique and intelligent imaging technologies at affordable prices. The Epson Perfection V33 and Epson Perfection V330 Photo are the newest scanners to join Epson Perfection line, which are engineered to fulfill scanning needs such as digitizing/archiving photos, documents, 3D objects and more. Priced at $89 and $119 (respectively), the Epson photo scanners feature 4800 x 9600 dpi optical resolution and the same wide range of user benefits and technologies, including a 180-degree lid for scanning oversized objects.

Control electronic information with Plustek scanners : Plustek Technology Inc demonstrated several new scanners at the AIIM Expo. The new Plustek scanners have been designed to meet the needs of companies looking to take active control of their electronic information. Plustek conducted hands-on demos at their booth on their full line of award winning portable, mobile and workgroup scanners. Highlights included the Plustek MobileOffice D428, MobileOffice AD450, and SmartOffice PL1530 scanners. The Plustek MobileOffice D428 is a full color duplex scanner and only 4x12 inches. The scanner provides 600-dpi resolution, a scanning speed of 2.2 seconds per page (28-ppm) and scans any media up to the thickness of a credit card.
