Nikon D7000 review

Dennis Hissink : 2010-12-26 14:00:00
Nikon D7000 review : Nikon is extending its Dxxxx series with a new DSLR camera, the Nikon D7000. This is part of a nice series of cameras, the D3100, D5000 and now also the Nikon D7000. A Nikon D9000 might just be the next model… The new Nikon D7000 is a whole new DSLR camera generation and falls between the Nikon D5000 and the D90, at least in terms of pricing. The D90 is still part of the picture, at least until it gets a successor (the D9000?). This Nikon DSLR is a camera aimed at the serious amateur photographer and offers a full package of camera-settings for creative photography as well as videography, as the Nikon D7000 supports Full HD 1080p video.

Nikon Coolpix P7000 review

Dennis Hissink : 2010-09-12 11:11:00
Nikon Coolpix P7000 digital camera review : The Nikon P-series stands for Performance; it is an advanced camera aimed at the serious photographer who demands a lot from his camera. The new Nikon Coolpix P7000 is meant to live up to that and at first glance the camera specifications look very promising. The Nikon P7000 is not just a logical successor to the P6000. Nikon has taken a step back in terms of the amount of Megapixels, has changed the design, and has exchanged the short zoom range for a mega zoom lens. Nikon seems to be getting back to basics with the P7000. Gadgety functions such as GPS and Ethernet-interface have been eliminated, and the emphasis is obviously on the image quality.

Nikon Coolpix S80 review

Mark Peters : 2010-09-08 06:00:02
Nikon Coolpix review : Nikon has renewed its Coolpix digital camera series with a new compact camera, the Nikon Coolpix S80. It is a new digital camera that is especially riding on its ‘looks’, and it is also equipped with a very fine display. It is a compact digital camera for the trendy photographer with an eye for design, comparable to Canon’s successful IXUS camera line. The Nikon Coolpix S80 is not a typical photographer’s choice, but it is more meant for those that is looking for ease, wanting to take snapshots now and then while on vacation, or of family of friends. The Nikon Coolpix S80 is operated completely automatically with support from Nikon’s Vibration Reduction system, among others.

Nikon D3100 review

Dennis Hissink : 2010-08-20 11:30:02
Nikon D3100 Quick review : About a year ago Nikon presented the D3000, a 10.2 Megapixel DSLR camera with several features that we also saw in the Nikon D90 and the D5000. With the introduction of the Nikon D3100, the successor to the Nikon D3000, Nikon again has an amateur DSLR camera in its assortment with specifications and functions that are all up-to-date again. The resolution has increased quite a bit, from 10.2 to 14.2 Megapixels and the Nikon D3100 SLR camera now also offers Full HD video. Of course the Nikon D3100 camera offers Live View, and there are also new AF settings included. The Nikon D3100 is a digital SLR camera aimed at the amateur photographer. A DSLR camera that has user friendliness as a bonus.

Nikon Coolpix S1100PJ review

Dennis Hissink : 2010-08-20 11:30:01
Nikon Coolpix S1100PJ review : Although a digital camera with built-in projector is still pretty gadgety, Nikon’s newest projector camera, the Nikon S1100pj, has something extra to offer. The Nikon Coolpix S1100pj is the successor to the S1000pj. This model was the first digital compact camera with a built-in projector with which it is possible to project photos and videos onto a flat surface. In itself this is a very clever achievement, but for the wider public the phenomenon remained unknown, or it was just too much of a gadget for the average user. Of course it also comes with a price, which will undoubtedly play a role in the acquisition of such a camera with gadget function.

Nikon Coolpix S5100 review

Dennis Hissink : 2010-08-20 11:30:00
Nikon Coolpix S5100 review : The new Nikon Coolpix S5100 lies in between the Coolpix S4000 and the S6000, in terms of numbering. This also seems to be the case in terms of camera specifications. With 5x optical zoom and a range of 28-140 mm (35mm equivalent), connected to a CCD image sensor with an effective resolution of 12.2 Megapixels, the Nikon S5100 fits nicely in between them. It is Nikon’s answer to the storm of relatively cheap entry-level cameras that are being offered by virtually every manufacturer on every street corner. It is difficult for a manufacturer to distinguish itself in this price segment. Nikon does this by equipping the camera with a new image processor.

Nikon 85mm lens review

Dennis Hissink : 2010-08-19 06:00:08
Nikon AF-S 85mm f/1.4G lens review : With the introduction of the Nikon AF-S Nikkor 85mm f/1.4G, Nikon fulfills an old promise. Nikon already had the beautiful Nikon 85mm f/1.4 in its assortment, but it was missing a number of specifications that we recently found in the new series of professional Nikon lenses. The new Nikon AF-S Nikkor 85mm now has a Silent Wave Motor, AF-S, and the highly praised Nano Crystal coating. It was a difficult task for the optical designers to improve the already highly valued lens. But this Nikon 85mm lens means that there is a new lens available for the portrait and fashion photographer in order to get the most out of the Nikon FX DSLR camera.

Nikon 28-300mm lens review

Dennis Hissink : 2010-08-19 06:00:07
Nikon AF-S 28-300mm lens review : The introduction of the new Nikon AF-S Nikkor 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR zoom lens is surprising. There were rumors previously that such a Nikon lens was tested by a professional photographer in the US, but the first reports were still pretty vague. When I first held the Nikon 28-300mm in my hands, I immediately compared it to a Canon lens with a similar focal range. The big difference is actually the weight of the lens. The Canon megazoom lens weighs at least 1600 grams, the Nikon AF-S 28-300mm weighs half that amount, making it easier to carry around. The Nikon AF-S Nikkor 28-300mm lens weighs about 800 grams.

Nikon 24-120mm lens review

Dennis Hissink : 2010-08-19 06:00:06
Nikon AF-S Nikkor 24-120mm f/4G ED VR review : For the full frame Nikon digital SLR camera owners, this is an interesting time. With the introduction of the new Nikon AF-S Nikkor 24-120mm f/4G ED VR zoom lens, we are ready for the 3rd Nikon lens for FX cameras. The Nikon 24-120mm lens with a fixed f/4 aperture could just become very popular. The wide angle of 24mm with light tele is ideal for street-, and press photography, but will also appeal to the enthusiastic amateur photographer. The 5x zoom range is ideal for landscapes or small spaces and the tele will also suffice to shoot a nice portrait. Additionally, the fixed F-stop across the entire range is ideal.

Nikon 55-300mm lens review

Dennis Hissink : 2010-08-19 06:00:05
Nikon AF-S Nikkor 55-300mm f/4-5.6G ED VR review : With the introduction of the Nikon D3100, Nikon has equipped an entry level SLR model with the latest technical touches once again. This amateur DSLR camera will be delivered with a kit lens, the AF-S DX 18-55 mm VR, and perhaps added to with a 55-200mm f/4-5.6G ED AF-S DX Nikkor lens. It is, however, expected that a new kit possibility will be given after the introduction of a new megazoom lens. The new Nikon AF-S Nikkor 55-300mm f/4-5.6G ED VR is a powerful standard zoom lens, especially designed for DSLR cameras with a DX-sensor, such as the Nikon D3100. Compared with 35mm cameras, the Nikon offers a range of 55-300mm in 82.5 - 450mm.

Nikon D3100

Ilse Jurriën : 2010-08-19 06:00:04
Nikon D3100 SLR camera : Nikon introduces the D3100, the most easy-to-use D-SLR, with full High Definition (HD) video, to date. The Nikon D3100 is designed for newcomers to D-SLR photography, especially young families who want to take beautiful pictures without worrying about complicated functionality. A range of automatic settings means the Nikon D3100 camera is doing all the hard work much like on a compact camera: Live View with Scene Auto Selector selects the mode that matches your shooting situation; Scene Recognition delivers sharply defined images by analyzing the scene and optimizing the camera settings immediately before the shutter is released; and Guide Mode will take you step-by-step through the process of how to get the picture you want.
