Sony-Ericsson phones

Mark Peters : 2010-02-26 15:10:00
New Sony-Ericsson phones at Mobile World Congress 2010 : Manufacturer Sony Ericsson was also present during the Mobile World Congress. Only Sony Ericsson’s booth was not really remarkable. There was little attention for the Sony Ericsson brand; you could walk right by it without noticing it. We were able to count the name Sony Ericsson only twice on the booth. This is a strange choice made by the designer of this booth. Of course it all depends on the product portfolio that Sony Ericsson presented, which was quite a weighty presentation. No less than Sir Howard String, CEO of Sony, expressed that Sony is far but finished with Sony Ericsson…

Solar phone

Mark Peters : 2010-02-25 22:10:00
NTT Docomo waterproof solar phone : We have already seen Cell phones with solar technology before, but NTT Docomo has gone a step further. During the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, we saw the NTT Solar Hybrid, a waterproof phone that runs on solar energy. Well isn’t that handy when you want to sail around the world in the sun on your boat. Solar-powered mobile devices do not seem to be very popular among the masses. That is not so strange, as a couple of days visit to the MWC 2010 in Spain did not deliver much sunshine. You have to be able to feed such a product with sunlight. And fun in the sun was not exactly present in Barcelona.

Huawei 3G cell phones

Mark Peters : 2010-02-25 19:40:00
Huawei 3G phones : According to president Lu Yimin, president of China Unicom, it just might be possible that the amount of 3G subscribers or providers will raise significantly the world over if the cell phone manufacturers are successful in lowering the prices of the 3G smartphones. The amounts of high-end 3G phones are available in high numbers, but there are not many entry-level models. And according to Lu Yimin, that's where there are more chances for success. Huawei Technologies has in any case understood that and presented several low-priced 3G phones during the MWC 2010 in Barcelona. And when both companies have their way, this could mean quite a boost in sales.

Vodafone cell phones

Mark Peters : 2010-02-25 12:00:00
New Vodafone budget cell phones : With the little imaginative name 250, Vodafone introduces a new low budget phone. The new Vodafone cell phone is a real price-buster, and that seems justified in terms of the price/quality ratio, so that a relatively large market segment is still available to it. According to a Vodafone representative, one can think of a sales market such as India, but also African countries such as Kenya, South Africa, Tanzania, etc. Vodafone’s mission is to allow everyone to enjoy the eases and often lifesavers of communication possibilities. With the Vodafone 250 cell phone, most elementary communication services can be executed.

Samsung Wave preview

Ilse Jurriën : 2010-02-21 10:44:00
Samsung Wave smartphone review : The introduction of the Samsung Wave smartphone has put Samsung at the center of attention, as is demonstrated in the world press. The enormous Samsung booth here at Mobile World Congress, both in size and striking appearance, makes the Sony Ericsson booth that it faces, pale in comparison. The Samsung brand is emanating a message at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, a message which the Koreans have understood. In terms of hardware, a piece with which Samsung distinguishes itself is the AMOLED display technology. Displays and cell phones are available in all kinds of combinations of shapes and sizes, but the Samsung Wave’s Super AMOLED is unequalled elsewhere.
