Nikon 24-120mm lens review

Dennis Hissink : 2010-08-19 06:00:06
Nikon AF-S Nikkor 24-120mm f/4G ED VR review : For the full frame Nikon digital SLR camera owners, this is an interesting time. With the introduction of the new Nikon AF-S Nikkor 24-120mm f/4G ED VR zoom lens, we are ready for the 3rd Nikon lens for FX cameras. The Nikon 24-120mm lens with a fixed f/4 aperture could just become very popular. The wide angle of 24mm with light tele is ideal for street-, and press photography, but will also appeal to the enthusiastic amateur photographer. The 5x zoom range is ideal for landscapes or small spaces and the tele will also suffice to shoot a nice portrait. Additionally, the fixed F-stop across the entire range is ideal.

Compared with 35mm cameras, the Nikon offers a range of 55-300mm in 82.5 - 450mm.

Panasonic lens review

Dennis Hissink : 2010-07-16 14:50:00
Panasonic 7-14mm lens review : At the start of 2009, Panasonic introduced a wide angle zoom lens for its Micro Four Thirds System: the Panasonic Lumix G Vario 7-14mm / F4.0 ASPH. Photographers immediately recognized the potential that this Panasonic zoom lens has: it is very compact, clearly lighter weight while maintaining a constant maximum aperture of f/4. The advantage of a so-called short flange back is included in the design of the Panasonic lens, resulting in a very compact ultra wide angle zoom lens. Because the Panasonic 7-14 mm lens has a very wide angle of view (114˚), it is easier to capture subjects when space is limited. We used the new Panasonic Lumix G2 in order to test the lens thoroughly.

Carl Zeiss Distagon T 2.8/25 ZF2 wide angle : Wide-angle lenses capture a large depth of field: a dragonfly that lands on a water lily while you can clearly make out the numerous blossoms behind its shimmering body; rocks, moss and cracks which create designs and formations extending to the horizon. Now this popular and time-tested Zeiss wide-angle lens is also available in a ZF.2 version for single-lens digital reflex cameras with F bayonet. With its very small focal distance, this newcomer to the ZF.2 lens series offers all the creative possibilities of manual focusing in photography.

Olympus ZUIKO lens review

Dennis Hissink : 2010-05-26 10:00:00
Olympus ZUIKO 9-18mm wide angle lens review : The great thing about Micro Four Thirds System lenses is that the dimensions can be made so impressively compact. Just take the new Olympus m. ZUIKO Digital ED 9-18mm f/4-5.6 wide angle lens. In combination with one of the PEN cameras, this is an ideal lens for making shots in the middle of the action, or to capture dramatic landscapes. The Olympus 9-18mm zoom lens is a lens that you would like to have with you as a photographer. There is some competition in the form of the Panasonic 7-14mm f/4.0, but the difference in format is clear. The focusing of the Olympus ZUIKO ED 9-18mm f/4-5.6 lens happens internally and is experienced as fast.
