50 Megapixel Single Shot Multi-band digital camera : In the New Perspective of Imaging Zone at the Canon Expo 2010, Canon's imaging technologies gave visitors a unique glimpse into the power of image by allowing them to see images in a way they could not have seen before. This zone includes Canon’s most advanced innovations, and shows how they will create new benefits at home and in the digital workplace. The commercial use for innovations demonstrated in this area has not yet been determined. The concept products we saw at the Canon Expo in Paris were very interesting and not hard to imagine that most of them could soon be reality. The usage of some of the concepts like the world first Single Shot multi-band camera was obvious.

Canon multi-purpose concept camera : At the Canon Expo 2010 in Paris we were introduced to a new concept camera, the multi-purpose camera. This compact and lightweight camera offers a single-device solution for a full range of business-use needs, including both video and photography. The camera is capable of shooting super-high-definition 4K video with a resolution four times greater than Full HD. Featuring a newly developed 2/3 inch, 8 megapixel CMOS sensor capable of super-high-definition video and photography at frame rates in excess of 60 frames per second, the camera enables high-speed continuous shooting and high quality slow-motion playback.


LG Optimus 7

LG Optimus 7 Smartphone : LG Electronics is showcasing a major breakthrough in mobile and home convergence at this year’s IFA trade show in Berlin. The new technology makes it possible to share multimedia files on LG’s upcoming LG Optimus 7 and all DLNA compliant digital devices at the touch of a finger. LG’s unique multimedia sharing technology on LG Optimus 7 handset allows users to enjoy content on the phone across today’s digital platforms with a simple finger flick. This preinstalled feature allows users to send files from the phone’s media galleries, without leaving an application.

Specification Bluetooth 4 official : From its annual All Hands Meeting in Seattle, the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) unveiled more information about its forthcoming Bluetooth Core Specification Version 4.0, with the hallmark feature of low energy technology. Bluetooth 4, expected to be brought to market by the end of Q2, will feature a powerful low energy mode designed to enable expansion of the technology in m-health, sports and fitness, security and home entertainment scenarios where button-cell battery devices proliferate. “Bluetooth v4.0 throws open the doors to a host of new markets for Bluetooth manufacturers and products such as watches, remote controls, and a variety of medical and in-home sensors.”

Enable iPhone smartphone for secure payment : Hypercom Corporation unveiled the first two members of a product family that enable smartphones to accept card payments. The two elegant, state-of-the-art SmartPayments Mobile payment solutions are for merchants with Apple iPhones who demand simple, flexible and secure card present processing capabilities on the popular smartphone platform. Hypercom’s payment solutions for the iPhone extend the use of electronic payments beyond in-store retail to home merchants, door-to-door delivery and repair services, event vendors and an array of other merchants with business-critical features not provided by recently-announced competitive units. Secure payment becomes an important part of business.


Blu-ray specifications

BDXL and IH-BD discs get official Blu-ray specifications : The Blu-ray Disc Association (BDA) announced two new media specifications that use Blu-ray Disc technology to provide targeted functionality for commercial and consumer applications. The specifications for BDXL (High Capacity Recordable and Rewritable discs) and IH-BD (Intra-Hybrid discs) are expected in the next few months. “Leveraging Blu-ray Disc to meet this need provides professional enterprises with a compact, stable and long term solution for archiving large amounts of data, video and graphic images using an accepted optical technology.” Blu-ray Disc is the next-generation optical disc format for high definition audio-video and high-capacity data software applications.


Sony PlayStation phone

Sony PlayStation mobile phone : It won’t have escaped anyone’s attention that manufacturers such as Apple have a lot of success with their innovative consumer electronics. The mega success of the Apple iPhone and the unprecedented popular Apps, iTunes and the popularity of paid (!) music, video and podcast downloads, has left a mark on the global entertainment market. And it seems that we can expect more upheaval from Apple this year. The most recent Apple announcement was the iPad, a so-called tablet that is being phased in world-wide. These developments are in any case for Sony a clear signal to get into action. For example, there is talk of a PlayStation Smartphone!

The SIM card has always been recognized as the secure element inside a mobile phone, and according to the GSMA, it is widely deployed - in use by more than 4 billion users every day to authenticate the subscriber on a telecom network.
