Mark Peters : 2010-12-14 19:30:01
CES 2011 Show : Januari 6 will be the day the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show will open its doors for the attending public. The CES show will showcase numerous new products and services from manufacturers all over the World. Without doubt 2011 will be the year of the tablet. Apple’s launch of the iPad has left an undeniable print on the mobile computing space. After a decade with minimal success, a tablet computing device is (finally) garnering mass market appeal. There are many factors driving this trend - not least of which is timing. The global appeal of Apple’s iPad is simultaneously brazening others to enter the fold and compete for this quickly growing market.

SLR camera concept

Dennis Hissink : 2010-10-14 19:30:00
Canon SLR camera concept : At the Canon Expo 2010 in Paris we saw some interesting concept products. Among them a SLR-type camera that reminded me of one of the early Canon PowerShot megazoom cameras, the Canon PowerShot Pro 90 IS. The Canon Pro 90 IS was announced back in the beginning of 2001, almost ten years ago! The new multi-user SLR concept camera combines ultra-high definition picture quality with high magnification. This Canon SLR concept was also showcased at the World Expo 2010 in Shanghai where among others Canon showed their vision of the future. Canon’s SLR concept camera is a camera of the future and visualizes the experiences by the world’s largest camera company.

Ilse Jurriën : 2010-09-21 00:40:00
Fujifilm GF670W Professional medium-format camera : Fujifilm announces the development of a high quality and high efficiency film camera, the GF670W Professional medium-format wide-angle camera as a reference exhibit at Photokina 2010. Last winter, Fujifilm launched the GF6700 Professional equipped with the Fujinon EBC 80mm lens, and the success of this camera led to numerous requests for the production of a series of medium-format wide-angle cameras. The development of the Fujifilm GF670W Professional is Fujifilm's response to these requests and the latest addition to its line-up of medium-format wide-angle cameras.

PMA show

Ilse Jurriën : 2010-02-26 22:48:00
PMA 2010 International Convention and Trade Show : January is traditionally the month dedicated to the CES show, during which a variety of consumer electronics for the upcoming season is introduced. This year's CES show managed to surprise us by introducing no less than 60+ new cameras, which we expect will soon be available in the (online) stores. This leaves us to ponder what is left for the PMA 2010 International Convention and Trade Show, which will not be held in Las Vegas this year, but instead in Anaheim, LA. We expect the PMA show to come up with a number of new DSLR cameras, as well as a number of consumer compact cameras. The industry does not seem to fully focus on the PMA; Canon, for example, will not be represented.

Mobile World Congress 2011 moving to Paris

Mark Peters : 2010-02-26 22:00:00
Mobile World Congress 2011 in Paris? : Remarkable affairs at the Mobile World Congress will always exist, but in the domain of manufacturers and hardware, not many things were presented at the Mobile World Congress that caused a stir. There is of course the case of Nokia that announced early on that they would not be present at the MWC 2010, at least not on the show floor. What Nokia did do, was rent a location in Barcelona at the same time of Mobile World Congress and wait for visitors to show up. It is hard for us to say if this was a good idea. In any case, we did not go, and seeing the publications written about Nokia, we don’t get the feeling that this was a bad decision.
