Alex dual screen eReader : Spring Design will take the wraps off the Alex, the only dual-screen Google Android-based eReader to fully integrate web browsing and reading, at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas January 7-10, 2010. The debut of the Alex dual screen Reader took place at the press-only Lunch at Piero’s media and innovator event January 8 where the company has demonstrate Alex’s full browser capabilities and patented dual screen interaction technology, the Duet Navigator that enables Alex users to search the Internet on the 3.5” color browser LCD screen while displaying books, periodicals and even personal, educational and corporate documents on the Alex’s paper-like 6” EPD screen.

Freescale smartbook with new tablet design : Freescale Semiconductor has unveiled the future of the smartbook category with a tablet reference design featuring a 7-inch touch screen with up to four times the viewing area of a typical smartphone and based on a form factor that is approximately one-third the size and volume of today’s typical netbook. The solution is intended to enable a second generation of smartbook products with prices less than $200 and featuring form factors that fully leverage the power, performance and functionality advantages of advanced ARM processor technology. It is designed to provide instant-on functionality, persistent connectivity and all-day battery life. The tablet will be demonstrated at the 2010 Consumer Electronics Show.
