Sigma 70-300mm F4-5.6 DG OS lens : The Sigma Corporation is pleased to announce the new 70-300mm F4-5.6 DG OS. This telephoto zoom lens incorporates Sigma’s original OS (Optical Stabiliser) function and is housed in a compact construction. The OS function offers the use of shutter speeds approximately 4 stops slower than would otherwise be possible. It makes telephoto shooting easy for many types of photography such as sport and nature. For Sony and Pentax mount, the built-in OS function of this lens can be used even if the camera body is equipped with an anti-shake function. As compensation for camera shake is visible in the view finder, the photographer can easily check for accurate focus and ensure there is no subject movement.

Field test Sigma AF 150mm f/2.8 APO EX macro DG lens : During the annual photography course I offer in France, I made extensive use of the Sigma AF 150mm f/2.8 APO EX macro DG lens. There were a few things I wondered about: 'Is its optical quality high enough to serve a 20 million pixel full frame Canon 5D Mark 2?'. Secondly; since I also frequently work in a studio environment; 'Is the auto focus fast and accurate enough in a rather dark studio environment?'. And lastly; 'How does it feel working with a slightly deviating focal length of 150mm for nature and studio photography?'.

Sigma 50-200mm F4-5.6 DC OS HSM lens : Sigma announces the new Sigma 50-200mm F4-5.6 DC OS HSM. This compact high-performance telephoto zoom lens incorporates Sigma’s own Optical Stabilizer function. The Sigma 50-200mm lens incorporates SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass in the front lens group and is equipped with an inner focusing system to provide high image quality throughout the entire zoom range. The incorporation of HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) ensures quiet and high-speed auto focus. The OS (Optical Stabilizer) function effectively eliminates the effects of camera shake so subjects can be easily and clearly seen in the viewfinder as well as in the image. It allows the use of shutter speeds approximately 4 stops slower than normal for steady, handheld photography.

Sigma 10-20mm F3.5 EX DC HSM lens : Sigma announces the new Sigma 10-20mm F3.5 EX DC HSM lens. This super-wide angle lens has a maximum aperture of F3.5 throughout the entire zoon range. Its wide angle of view from 102.4 degrees produces striking images with exaggerated perspective. The maximum aperture of F3.5 is ideal for indoor shooting and it enables photographers to emphasize the subject. Two ELD (Extraordinary Low Dispersion) glass elements and a SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass element provide excellent correction of color aberration. Four aspherical lenses provide correction for distortion and allow compact and lightweight construction. The Super Multi-Layer coating reduces flare and ghosting. High image quality is assured throughout the entire zoom range.

Sigma 18-250 mm lens : The Sigma Corporation is pleased to announce the launch of new SIGMA 18-250mm F3.5-6.3 DC OS HSM lens for Sigma, Nikon, Canon, Sony and Pentax digital SLR cameras. The SIGMA 18-250mm F3.5-6.3 DC OS HSM lens incorporates Sigma’s original anti-shake compensation function, with a 13.8 times zoom ratio. As opposed to having an anti-shake function in the camera body, this lens’s Hybrid Optical Stabilizer provides not only an anti-shake function for the camera body, but also compensates for image shaking in the view finder as the Optical Stabilizer is built in to the lens.
