Increase download speed with Samsung dongle : Samsung Electronics has announced the commercial availability of the Samsung dongle or Long Term Evolution (LTE) dongle, in Sweden and Norway. TeliaSonera begins offering commercial 4G Samsung dongles (Samsung GT-B3710) for customers in Stockholm, Sweden and in Oslo, Norway. The introduction of the commercial dongle follows the announcement in October about TeliaSonera’s selection of Samsung as its 4G device provider. Customers in Sweden and Norway can now enjoy maximum download speeds of 100 Mbps in 4G, which is ten times faster than the speed of the current ‘Turbo 3G’ service. Samsung’s LTE dongle can be connected to a laptop computer or other portable devices via USB.

Mobile WiMAX roaming service demonstration : Samsung Electronics, a leading provider of telecom systems and mobile phones, and VMAX Telecom, a Taiwan-based WiMAX operator, announced that they successfully demonstrated the industry’s first Mobile WiMAX roaming service at the Broadband Taiwan 2009 conference. By offering an international and national roaming service demonstration using Samsung’s Mobile WiMAX systems and devices, the companies reaffirmed their leadership of the technology. The presentation showed that with the roaming service, Mobile WiMAX is capable of being used around the world. For mobile roaming service between different service networks, the two networks should be interoperated by sharing registration information.
