Panasonic Lumix GH1 SLR preview : The arrival of a new GH1 of Panasonic did not exactly come as a surprise, while at the Photokina 2008 we already saw an early prototype of the Panasonic GH1 showcased behind glass Panasonic's press event. The introduction of the Micro Four Thirds system, in cooperation with Olympus, was a good start for Panasonic. In 2008, the Panasonic LUMIX DMC-G1 was awarded with the DIWA Gold Award for overall quality and the highly appreciated LUMIX G Vario 14-45mm kit lens. The official introduction of the Panasonic LUMIX GH1 is now a fact, and certainly creates high expectations. The Panasonic GH1 will take video capture with a DSLR to a different level.

Olympus E-620 Las Vegas photo gallery : We've managed to get hold of the first full production Olympus E-620 DSLR camera, and we have made several sample pictures on the famous Strip in Las Vegas. The Olympus E-620 is currently the world's smallest and most light-weight DSLR with built-in image stabilization. However; it's not only the weight that makes the E620 stand out from the crowd. The camera uses techniques of the semi-professional Olympus E-30, lifting the bar for quality again. In addition to the Live MOS sensor with 12.3 Megapixels, the Olympus E620 features a handy vari-angle LCD display that can be folded in and out, which is ideal when you want to take pictures from an awkward angle. Live View provides the extra ease.

Fujifilm FinePix F200EXR photo gallery : During the worldwide introduction of the new Fujifilm FinePix F200EXR, we were already able to provide a preview. During the PMA in Las Vegas, I took a production model of the Fujifilm F200EXR along to get started for the upcoming review. The Fujifilm FinePix F200EXR is the first camera to feature the new Super CCD EXR image sensor. This sensor was officially introduced at the Photokina 2008 and is a technical innovation of which Fujifilm has very high expectations indeed. The history of Fujifilm sensors shows that a lot of effort is generally put into research, in order to improve pixel quality without prioritizing on pixel amounts. As far as we're concerned, this is an excellent choice.

Panasonic LUMIX DMC-TZ7 test photos : During a Panasonic press event, held in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, I was given the opportunity to use the new Panasonic LUMIX DMC-TZ7. The Panasonic LUMIX TZ7 is Panasonic's flagship of the new assortment LUMIX digital cameras for the upcoming season. It is the successor to the TZ5 and Panasonic's hope to continue the successful Travel Zoom series. The specifications aren't bad at all upon first glance. Whereas the TZ5 distinguished itself by featuring a 10x optical zoom in a compact housing, the Panasonic TZ7 even surpasses this with a 12x zoom! This is enough to reach a range of 25-300mm (35mm equivalent) without any effect on the compact size.

Fujifilm Z30 : Even before the PMA 2009 kicks off, Fujifilm introduces a new series of FinePix cameras, among which is the new stylish Fujifilm FinePix Z30. A year ago, the FinePix Z20fd was the successor to the Z10fd. The Fujifilm Z30 is next in line and comes with an entirely new look and feel. The material used on the camera is smooth, smaller when it comes to its design, and it has a whole new button-layout on its back. The Fujifilm Z30 clearly targets at the trendy consumer who wants to carry along a cool, small camera at all times. This should not be a problem with the Z30, thanks to its small dimensions and low weight. In addition, Fujifilm considers the Z30 a perfect accessory for network sites such as FaceBook and Hyves.

Samsung NV24HD digital camera review : At the beginning of last year, Samsung made itself heard by introducing a whole new series of digital compact cameras. However, the second half of last year proved to be the opposite. Everybody expected to hear from Samsung at the Photokina show where the brand was attending alright, but no camera introductions were actually made. For this test, we selected the Samsung NV24HD. Although introduced last year, still a very current camera.• Read our full Samsung NV24HD review.

Casio EXILIM FH20 test photo gallery : The Casio EXILIM FH20 continues the first generation High Speed EXILIM cameras of Casio. The Casio Pro EX-F1 was the first digital camera able to shoot an impressive amount of pictures at the dazzling speed of 1200fps. This was unprecedented and it made the Casio EXILIM F1 an instant hit for photographers that were YouTube fans at the same time. A variety of Hi-speed demos circulate on the Net. The Casio EXILIM FH20 has to settle for slightly less, yet still offers a respectable speed of 1000fps. The resolution of the Casio EX-FH20 megazoom camera has increased from 6 to 9 Megapixels, serving the Megapixel enthusiast. Moreover, the price of the Casio FH20 megazoom camera has also dropped.

Field-test Canon EOS 5D Mark 2 : For my trip to a paradise called Bali, the Canon retailer gave me one of the very first Canon EOS 5D Mark II camera models, to take with me on my journey. I went through tropical rain showers, soggy primary forest, smoking craters and burning hot beaches to find out how the Canon EOS 5D Mark II DSLR camera performs. Have the good features, such as noise-free images and the wide viewfinder of the primary EOS 5D, been enhanced? And, equally important: have the inferior features, like the insufficient auto focus and dust-prone aspect of the original, been addressed?
