Nikon Coolpix P90 review : The Nikon P90 is one of the latest mega-zoom cameras from the Coolpix stable. On one hand, the mega-zoom camera finds itself under pressure, mainly due to the appearance of the entry-level digital SLR camera. On the other hand however, this type of camera still has the advantage of a compact size and light weight, combined with a large optical zoom range like the Nikon Coolpix P90 with its 24x zoom. The P90 is the successor to the Coolpix P80 and challenges the megazoom as well as the DSLR cameras, including Nikon's own line of digital SLR cameras.• Read our full Nikon P90 review.

Canon EOS 7D SLR camera review : For several years now, there have been rumors about a possible Canon EOS 7D introduction. Most of these were based on fiction; however, recently it became clear that certain features could very well become reality. We were offered the opportunity, even before the official introduction, to get acquainted with a new EOS DSLR camera, which indeed turned out to be the Canon EOS 7D. 18 Megapixel CMOS, two DIGIC-4 processors, an entirely redesigned AF system, 100% viewfinder with 1.0x magnification, improved Movie function, and a new LCD monitor, are just a few of the many enhancements and improvements of the Canon 7D camera. The first Canon EOS 7D camera delivery is expected in September.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF1 preview : Besides Olympus, it is also Panasonic that focuses on the development of the Micro Four Thirds System. The Lumix G-generation consists of the world's first Micro Four Thirds camera, the G1, followed by the GH1, which incorporates a video function. The Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF1 is a new addition to the Lumix G Micro System, and aims mainly at the advanced photographer. The entirely new design, far more compact and as well as more lightweight than before, ensures the GF1 really distinguishes itself from the masses. Weighing in at a mere 285 grams (body only), makes the Panasonic Lumix GF1 the world's lightest Micro Four Thirds camera so far. With this concept, Panasonic serves a large group of photographers primarily looking for a compact and light equivalent of their heavy (semi-) pro DSLR camera.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-GH1 review : During the Photokina 2008 where visitors were able to meet the G1 for the first time, the attentive camera enthusiast could already sneak in a first glimpse of the GH1. A prototype was taking cover in the back of the booth. Due to the visible built-in stereo microphone, it soon became clear that we could expect something truly special from this type of Panasonic Micro Four Thirds system camera. Six months later, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GH1 was officially announced and became the world's first system camera with High Definition video and continuous AF support.• Read our full Panasonic GH1 review.

Canon EOS 500D SLR camera review : In a slight up-tempo, Canon has introduced a new digital SLR, the Canon EOS 500D. At this time, the Canon 500D is ranked in between several existing EOS cameras such as the 1000D / 450D and the EOS 50D. This is already the sixth generation EOS digital SLR camera since the EOS 300D was introduced in 2003. In the meantime, a lot has been improved and renewed, and looking back, it is impressive to see how much has changed in a short period of time, which has certainly added to the image quality. • Read our full Canon 500D review.

Canon IXUS 110 IS compact camera review : Canon continues to be successful with its compact cameras, as it has been for many years now. One after the other camera is developed and introduced, often proving a leading factor for the rest of the digital camera market. Still, Canon must have noticed that the competition is fierce and that it is becoming gradually more difficult to stand out. Increasing the amount of pixels is no longer interesting; however, a new model does need a sales-push somehow. • Read our full Canon IXUS 110 IS review.

Olympus E-450 DSLR review : With the arrival of the Olympus E-450, the assortment of FourThirds DSLR cameras is enhanced once more. The Olympus E-450 is the successor to the E-420 and takes over the lead of being one of the world's most compact DSLR cameras. This fight is literally battled out over millimeters and milligrams and the competition is killing. Olympus is facing brands like Canon, Nikon, Pentax and Sony. Olympus does manage to stand out thanks to its FourThirds system, but to be honest, the differences are becoming smaller every day. • Read our full Olympus DSLR review.
