JVC to buy Pentax?

Mark Peters : 2009-11-05 05:00:00
JVC Kenwood Holdings to buy Pentax Camera Division? : Where there is smoke, most of the time there is also a fire. An article in an apparent economic newspaper from Japan claims to have information about the possible sale of the Pentax camera division by the Hoya Corporation to… JVC Kenwood Holdings. Now let that be a surprise, granted when the information is actually true. What we find remarkable is the official reaction that Hoya very quickly gave with the announcement that the aforementioned article was not based on fact. If it speculative or not, in all appearances there is something brewing at the Pentax camera division. A few days ago the CEO of Hoya, Hiroshi Yamada, commented in a certain direction.

Pentax online camera store

Mark Peters : 2009-11-04 10:37:35
Pentax online camera store to replace current dealers? : Is this the beginning of the end of the Pentax camera dealer? The news that Pentax Europe will open its online Imaging System stores in Germany, the UK, France, Switzerland and Hungary, does not seem like positive news for photo camera stores. For the traditional camera store, there is already a lot of competition online, so that the strategic move that Pentax will make with its online camera store might be the last straw. By setting up the Pentax online camera store, consumers in the countries named can order directly from Pentax. Undoubtedly a suggested retail price will be used, but in any case it will take away profits from the camera stores.

Pentax camera division merging with Samsung?

Mark Peters : 2009-11-03 11:40:00
Pentax digital camera division merging with Samsung? : In the past, camera manufacturers like Fujifilm, Pentax, etc. dominated the international photo business. It was virtually unthinkable that electronic manufacturers could make the leap and claim a market share. However, the digital picture era changed all of this. Various camera brands experienced great difficulty in making the switch from analogue to digital, with Kodak being the biggest example. Pentax is also one of the manufacturers that seems unable to claim a significant market share. It is not the products that are to blame, the Pentax DSLR cameras are mostly welcomed warmly by the trade press. Is there a partnership coming up?

Pentax review : K7 DSLR camera

Dennis Hissink : 2009-10-29 15:00:00
Pentax K7 review : The DSLR market is dominated by Nikon and Canon and they certainly keep an eye on each other. However, this is something that often proves to have a somewhat negative influence on the creativity of the manufacturers, as it generally means they lose a little bit of their daring. Fortunately however, there are also smaller brands such as Pentax. These smaller brands do not need to worry about whether or not they are number one. They just make cameras the way they think they should be. A little cocky at times, but that is only healthy. The Pentax K-7 is one of these cameras.

Pentax K-x digital SLR camera : Pentax Imaging redefines the entry-level digital SLR category with the introduction of the K-x digital SLR. The Pentax K-x camera offers high-end features including Live View and HD video. And, since there’s no rule that SLR cameras must come in black only, the Pentax K-x will be available in a choice of white or black, as well as special, limited edition red and navy. Priced at $599.95 USD (for body with DA L 18-55mm lens), the extremely compact and lightweight Pentax K-x forges ahead on the trail initiated by the popular Pentax K2000. With a one-handed shooting design and simple, easy-to-use operation, the Pentax Kx is perfect for users stepping up from a point and shoot digital camera to their first digital SLR.

Pentax camera review : K7 photo gallery

Dennis Hissink : 2009-08-10 21:30:00
Pentax K-7 picture gallery : During my stay in Las Vegas, where I attended the PMA 2009 Imaging Convention and Trade show, there was already talk behind closed doors of a shortly expected Pentax digital SLR camera. The first information we gathered sounded promising, yet it was too early (February 2009) to reveal the news. Internet rumors kept growing however, and three months later, the Pentax K-7 DSLR was finally officially introduced. A DSLR camera from the middle-segment, yet a camera with refined features. The Pentax K7 is a typical SLR for the demanding user. The wealth of advanced functions and user-friendly features in a high- quality housing make the Pentax K-7 a high-end model from the Pentax K-series DSLR cameras.
