Nikon D3s review

Dennis Hissink : 2009-10-23 14:15:00
Nikon D3s test : November 2007, Nikon stunned the world of sports photography by introducing a Nikon DSLR offering features such as high ISO performance and an unbelievably accurate AF-precision. This Nikon D3 shook the Pro's world to its foundations, causing a large amount of professional photographers and media agencies to switch from major rival Canon to Nikon only shortly after. And now, two years later, I am holding the very successor to the D3 in my hands, to work with during a European Nikon Event, held in Scotland, St. Andrews. I am talking about the Nikon D3s, Nikon's solution for the sports photographer. A vastly improved SLR camera, thanks to the feedback that came from many professional photographers!

Nikon D3s professional digital SLR camera : Nikon introduces its newest FX-format digital SLR flagship: the Nikon D3s. Standing on the shoulders of the world-renowned Nikon D3, the D3s takes the potential of Nikon’s proprietary FX-format to incredible new levels designed to meet or exceed a professional’s high standards. The Nikon D3s SLR camera delivers ISO 200 to ISO 12800 as standard, with the excellent noise control and wide dynamic range that the Nikon D3 is famous for. This provides photographers of any discipline with additional latitude to achieve quality images in most lighting situations. When needed, ISO sensitivity can even be expanded from Lo 1 (ISO 100 equivalent) up to Hi 3 (ISO 102400 equivalent).

AF-S DX Micro Nikkor 85mm lens

Ilse Jurriën : 2009-10-14 06:00:00
Nikon AF-S DX Micro Nikkor 85mm lens : Nikon launches a new compact and lightweight DX format Macro lens with high quality optics, the Nikon AF-S DX Micro Nikkor 85mm F/3.5G VR lens. Implementing Nikon’s second generation Vibration Reduction (VR II) system and a 1:1 reproduction ratio, the Nikon 85mm micro lens is the perfect choice for exploring the world of close-up photography. Ideal for those new to macro photography, the Nikon AF-S DX Micro Nikkor 85mm F/3.5G VR lens boasts a 1:1 reproduction ratio, allowing photographers to get lifelike close-ups of more intricate textures and details, even down to the fine texture on flower petals or insect wings. On top of this, the VR II system provides both a steady viewfinder image for composition and sharper results at slow shutter speeds or when shooting movie clips.

Nikon D3000 review

Dennis Hissink : 2009-10-13 23:50:00
Nikon D3000 SLR camera review : The launch of the Nikon D3000 was inevitable. The arrival of the D5000 had made it clear that the possibility to bring out another model ranked slightly below was still wide open. And that exact space in that particular segment, that of the entry-level digital SLR, has now been filled with the availability of the Nikon D3000. This is also the end of the D60 era, as well as that of the D40x DSLR camera which had already vanished. The Nikon D3000 takes over the position of 'ultimate' entry-level SLR.

Nikon P90 review

Dennis Hissink : 2009-09-12 20:00:00
Nikon Coolpix P90 review : The Nikon P90 is one of the latest mega-zoom cameras from the Coolpix stable. On one hand, the mega-zoom camera finds itself under pressure, mainly due to the appearance of the entry-level digital SLR camera. On the other hand however, this type of camera still has the advantage of a compact size and light weight, combined with a large optical zoom range like the Nikon Coolpix P90 with its 24x zoom. The P90 is the successor to the Coolpix P80 and challenges the megazoom as well as the DSLR cameras, including Nikon's own line of digital SLR cameras.

Nikon D3000 test photos

Dennis Hissink : 2009-08-21 16:45:00
Nikon D3000 photo gallery : With the arrival of the Nikon D3000, a new entry level DSLR camera makes its appearance. The Nikon D3000 is equipped with a modest yet sufficient resolution of 10 megapixels and has inherited techniques from the advanced D5000 and D90 cameras. We find features such as a 3-inch display and 11-point AF with 3D tracking incorporated in the D3000. The camera mainly aims at the novice and those who switch from compact cameras. The only thing lacking on the Nikon D3000 is a video function, which we believe has not yet been completely developed. The Nikon D3000 is expected to become available this month. The first batch of Nikon sample photos has been taken and a Nikon D3000 review will follow real soon.
