LG Arena phone has exceeded one million sales worldwide : LG Electronics announced that the LG Arena (LG-KM900) multimedia phone has exceeded one million sales worldwide. The LG Arena Smartphone reached the milestone in just five months after debuting at the Mobile World Congress 2009 in February, reinforcing its stature as a premium Smartphone. In accordance with predictions from experts in the market, the LG Arena Smartphone rapidly broke the one million sales barrier after its announcement in Barcelona. This figure was achieved in five months after the commercial launch in April and puts it ahead of the sales of the popular LG Viewty cell phone.

Camera phone image quality initiative : The International Imaging Industry Association (I3A) announced that its ground-breaking Camera Phone Image Quality (CPIQ) Initiative is now open to new participants. The announcement was made at the PMA 2009 show in Las Vegas last week. With CPIQ Phase 2 coming to a successful conclusion, additional interested companies are now invited to come on board during this Open Enrollment period, to influence the critical final phase of the project. Additionally, media and analyst representatives are sought for a CPIQ Media Advisory Board, who will advise the group on the development of a consumer-friendly image quality rating system.
