Red Dot Award goes to the Minox Spy camera : So, what is it worth? Minox, once known for its innovative, analogue camera design, has received a Red Dot award for its Minox Digital Spy Camera. We came across the Minox Spy Camera during one of the digital imaging events such as PMA and Photokina, and as a professional photographer you cannot respectably take a Spy camera like that seriously anymore. Around 1935 Walter Zapp had the idea to design an ultra compact camera. The idea was actually simple, but what it boiled down to was that the small camera was to be a precision instrument. In 1938, Walter found a manufacturer that wanted to produce his design and the first Minox camera became a fact.
