PMA report 2009 - Digital camera highlights : First thing I noticed at the start of the PMA 2009 show, was the absence of the DSLR this year. Only Olympus with the E-620 and Panasonic with its LUMIX GH1 as Micro Four Thirds system camera, play a role and that is quite striking indeed. The PMA 2009 show focused on compact cameras, or better said: the features of a compact camera. However, it doesn't mean that this year is over just yet, in fact; the year has only just started and with several important events coming up in 2010 (for example the Olympic Winter Games) we can still expect more this year. In addition, there is also the Micro Four Thirds system with which Olympus has to come out in the open.

LetsGoDigital wishes her readers a Happy New Year : Another year has passed. A year in which a lot has changed within the digital imaging industry, whilst at the same time, a lot has also remained the same. Stronger than ever before, the trend of popularity of the digital SLR is both noticeable and measurable, with significant price changes within the amateur as well as the professional segment. Developments took place to bring the DSLR camera even closer within reach of the consumer, and also other developments that speeded up the innovations. We are looking forward to a year with many interesting developments. For example, the Micro FourThirds system of Panasonic and Olympus. As a base, this system can lead to beautifully compact housings with equally beautiful lenses.
