Waterproof digital cameras

Ilse Jurriën : 2009-03-08 00:30:00
Waterproof and shockproof digital cameras : Waterproof and shockproof digital cameras are likely to become the hit of 2009, or at least; if it is up to the manufacturer. Various famous brands such as Olympus, Canon and Fujifilm have all introduced their own version of this type of camera, however, corporations such as General Imaging are also beginning to see the light. Although GE still seems unable to really get things started with a solidly built assortment of digital cameras, General Imaging did introduce the GE G3WP at the PMA 2009 show. The GE G3WP is a waterproof digital camera that can be used to a maximum depth of 10 feet. It features 12.2 Megapixels and an 4x optical zoom, all of which should add to the freedom of the active outdoor photographer, in order to capture his or her favorite moment.

Sony Webbie MP4 cameras at PMA 2009 : We'd almost overlook them: Sony's Webbie Cams. The new brightly colored Sony cameras record video in MP4 format and digital pictures targeted on the World Wide Web. The Sony MHS-CM1 and MHS-PM1 Webbie HD cameras are able to record in a High Definition resolution of 1440x1080 pixels at a speed of 30 frames per second. In addition, 5 Megapixel pictures can be made. The Sony Webby cameras are compact and light enough to take them around wherever you go. Nice to use for the capture of daily moments, or to add to your Blog site. The included software serves to quickly and simply convert the video or photo data to enable publishing on the Internet.

Samsung NX camera

Mark Peters : 2009-03-07 23:00:00
Samsung NX camera showcased at PMA Show in Las Vegas : As for the Samsung NX camera; it may have been introduced as a concept, but many things still remain unclear. There are no announcements whatsoever from Samsung about specifications that are not already in the press release, but as we look at the concept cameras showcased behind glass, we see features claimed like video capture. This makes us assume that the Samsung NX camera will be able to record videos. The DX format sensor that is going to be used in the future Samsung NX camera, is larger that that of the compact camera, which causes us to expect more from the image quality of this digital camera.

Micro FourThirds camera system

Mark Peters : 2009-03-07 00:28:00
Micro Four Thirds camera system showcased at PMA Show : During last year’s Photokina 2008 in Germany, the Micro FourThirds system was jointly introduced by Olympus and Panasonic. And although Panasonic pocketed the gain during the Photokina by introducing the Panasonic LUMIX G1 digital camera, Olympus was not forgotten, and curiosity about the plans of Olympus with this system stayed on. At the opening, Olympus showed a Micro FourThirds design concept to the international press, and afterwards to the public, with the announcement that this kind of concept belongs to the possibilities, but that it does not necessarily equal the end-product.

Ilse Jurriën : 2009-03-02 19:55:00
Pentax X70 Megazoom digital camera : Just before the PMA 2009 Show kicks off, rumors and leaks are daily business. Most brands have already introduced their new digital camera line-up, but still no word from Pentax so far. However; we strongly believe that a new Pentax DSLR is on its way. The following text is a copy of the information we have received from an active Pentax forum member. Until we receive the official information we consider the following information still as unofficial.

Pentax hybrid digital camera coming up?

Dennis Hissink : 2009-03-01 20:24:04
Pentax hybrid camera to be launched? : The German magazine Colorfoto has published an article about the new Olympus E-620 camera with a product shot that is certainly not an Olympus DSLR but appears to be a Pentax camera that could not be identified so far. This close to the PMA show, a continuous flood of speculations, one after the other, appears, and all we can do is wait and see what's going to happen. At this moment, all we know about the new Pentax camera is what we can decipher on its back. The camera lacks an optical viewfinder, but does sport an electronic viewfinder (EVF) and a large sized LCD monitor. This seems to indicate a large optical zoom range or a hybrid digital camera.

Polaroid PoGo digital camera

Mark Peters : 2009-01-12 16:00:00
Polaroid PoGo instant camera : Polaroid announces the launch of the Polaroid PoGo digital camera, the first digital camera and instant printer combination available in the U.S. and Europe that is portable enough to take anywhere. With the push of a button, consumers can select from among the digital photos on the camera, crop or edit them and in less than 60 seconds, print full-color, 2x3-inch prints - all with a single device. “Unlike traditional instant film, photos from the Polaroid PoGo Instant Digital Camera emerge fully developed,” Pollock says. “While many of our most passionate customers tell us “shaking” a Polaroid photo is part of the fun, with any Polaroid photo, the “shake” is totally optional.”
