Canon camera reviews : IXUS 200 IS

Dennis Hissink : 2009-10-04 14:15:00
Canon IXUS 200 IS camera review : Canon aptly participates in the Megapixel race with the IXUS 200 IS. The small compact cameras already feature an extremely tiny image sensor, and to apply it with no less than 12 million pixels seems to be a contradiction. However, not as far as marketing is concerned; they seem all too happy to see high resolution figures pass by. Still, Canon is showing slight traces of change, although this does not (yet) apply to the Canon Digital IXUS 200 IS camera, but, who knows? Perhaps the next generation of IXUS cameras will await the same fate.

Canon EOS 7D preview

Dennis Hissink : 2009-09-06 14:00:00
Canon EOS 7D SLR camera review : For several years now, there have been rumors about a possible Canon EOS 7D introduction. Most of these were based on fiction; however, recently it became clear that certain features could very well become reality. We were offered the opportunity, even before the official introduction, to get acquainted with a new EOS DSLR camera, which indeed turned out to be the Canon EOS 7D. 18 Megapixel CMOS, two DIGIC-4 processors, an entirely redesigned AF system, 100% viewfinder with 1.0x magnification, improved Movie function, and a new LCD monitor, are just a few of the many enhancements and improvements of the Canon 7D camera. The first Canon EOS 7D camera delivery is expected in September.

Canon 500D review

Dennis Hissink : 2009-08-22 10:30:00
Canon EOS 500D SLR camera review : In a slight up-tempo, Canon has introduced a new digital SLR, the Canon EOS 500D. At this time, the Canon 500D is ranked in between several existing EOS cameras such as the 1000D / 450D and the EOS 50D. This is already the sixth generation EOS digital SLR camera since the EOS 300D was introduced in 2003. In the meantime, a lot has been improved and renewed, and looking back, it is impressive to see how much has changed in a short period of time, which has certainly added to the image quality.

Canon compact camera review

Dennis Hissink : 2009-08-19 13:02:00
Canon IXUS 110 IS compact camera review : Canon continues to be successful with its compact cameras, as it has been for many years now. One after the other camera is developed and introduced, often proving a leading factor for the rest of the digital camera market. Still, Canon must have noticed that the competition is fierce and that it is becoming gradually more difficult to stand out. Increasing the amount of pixels is no longer interesting; however, a new model does need a sales-push somehow.

Canon review : PowerShot A2100 IS

Dennis Hissink : 2009-08-11 08:45:00
Canon PowerShot A2100 IS test : Because of its predecessor, the A2000IS, the fate of the Canon PowerShot A2100IS digital camera had already been sealed: it would no longer provide the A/S mode (Aperture/Shutter priority) for the creative hobby photographer. An enhanced automation took its place, which is perhaps more suitable for the target group the PowerShot A-series aims at. The Canon PowerShot A2100 IS digital camera went one step higher up the Megapixel ladder, now featuring a 12 Megapixel CCD image sensor.

Canon camera review : PowerShot SX200 IS

Dennis Hissink : 2009-05-23 14:00:00
Canon PowerShot SX200 IS review : The introduction of the Canon PowerShot SX200IS is Canon's response to Panasonic's success with the TravelZoom series Megazoom cameras. To be honest, we had been baffled for quite a while by the fact that Canon, as well as all the other camera manufacturers, simply allowed Panasonic to move ahead without any form of counter attack. Now that the Canon SX200IS is available, it means competition has finally arrived, and with the specifications of Canon's newborn Megazoom camera, it will be hard for the competition to at least keep pace.

Canon IXUS 110 IS test photos

Dennis Hissink : 2009-05-07 22:50:00
Canon IXUS 110 IS gallery : The new line of Canon IXUS cameras seems to focus even more on design and ease. Take the Canon Digital IXUS 110 IS for example; a compact-sized camera with striking curved corners and rounded lines. A genuinely eye-catching design! The Canon IXUS 110 IS digital camera features a very nice optical zoom range of 28-112mm, and its 2.8 inch LCD monitor provides beautiful reproduction for wide-angle pictures and wide-screen HD video clips. The Canon IXUS 110 IS comes in various colors, making it making it quite a task to pick your favorite. The 12 Megapixel resolution and Canon's effective image stabilization system make the Canon Digital IXUS 110 IS an appealing camera for the starting photographer.

Canon IXUS 95 IS test photos

Dennis Hissink : 2009-05-06 22:00:00
Canon IXUS 95 IS gallery : An extremely nice camera of the IXUS line is the Canon Digital IXUS 95 IS. It is a very compact-sized camera that also has Canon's advanced image stabilization system onboard. The camera’s 10 Megapixels are more than enough to print large-sized pictures. The Canon IXUS 95 IS camera comes in various colors and is a really beautiful accessory, also thanks to its stunning design, to take along with you at all times. If you choose not to, it certainly won't be because of the format, while the camera is flat and no larger than an average compact mobile phone. The 3x optical zoom and Canon's optical Image Stabilizer including the new and enhanced user interface will ensure all-round digital photo-taking fun.

Canon PowerShot SX200 IS test photos

Dennis Hissink : 2009-04-23 12:00:00
Canon SX200 IS test photos : Just before the PMA 2009 kicked off, Canon introduced its version of a compact Megazoom camera. Although Canon did have various Megazoom cameras in their assortment, these were cameras with a relatively bigger size. Panasonic was the successful leader in this field. The lack of response to the Panasonic TZ series, which has already been a success for years now, surprised us highly. Now, Canon sets out to call a halt to Panasonic's leading position; lonely at the top, with the launch of the new Canon PowerShot SX200 IS. The Canon SX200 IS is a 12.1 Megapixel camera with a 12x optical zoom lens on board, providing a range of 28-336mm. This combination is supported by Canon's optical image stabilization.

Dennis Hissink : 2009-04-22 15:00:00
Canon A2100 IS test photos : Among the new series of digital cameras introduced by Canon just before the start of the PMA, is the new Canon PowerShot A2100 IS. The Canon A2100 IS replaces the A2000 and features a 6x optical zoom. In addition, this camera is equipped with a powerful DIGIC-4 processor which carries out complex image editing techniques. The PowerShot A-series has been on the market for quite a number of generations now, and has proven quite successful indeed. The Canon A2100 IS has an appealing price/quality ratio, and the beginning photographer will obtain a full camera that is able to take a good quality picture with the least of effort put into it. Canon's Optical Image Stabilizer technology prevents motion blur.

Canon PowerShot G10 review

Dennis Hissink : 2009-04-07 23:33:00
Canon PowerShot G10 digital camera test : The Canon PowerShot G10 was introduced worldwide around the time of the Photokina 2008. The G10 is the latest model of Canon's successful G-series cameras. The Canon PowerShot G camera is always prone to attract the attention of photographers, the amateur as well as the professional photographer. The Canon PowerShot G10 is the immediate successor to the G9 and it comes as no surprise that both cameras look a lot alike. In spite of what you may have expected, the PowerShot G10 has not decreased in size, in fact, it even got somewhat bigger.

Canon PowerShot A2000 IS review

Dennis Hissink : 2009-03-20 22:30:00
Canon PowerShot A2000 IS digital camera review : During the last weeks of the summer of 2009, Canon introduced several cameras. The compact camera series also contained a pair of PowerShot A models; the A1000 IS and the A2000 IS. The model we tested, the Canon PowerShot A2000, successor to the A720 IS camera, differentiates itself from the A-Series when it comes to its design, which features more obvious lines. The appearance of the camera has undergone a vast change, and the same applies to the functionality of this new PowerShot A digital camera.

Canon EOS review : 5D Mark II fieldtest

Anno Huidekoper : 2009-02-12 12:00:00
Field-test Canon EOS 5D Mark 2 : For my trip to a paradise called Bali, the Canon retailer gave me one of the very first Canon EOS 5D Mark II camera models, to take with me on my journey. I went through tropical rain showers, soggy primary forest, smoking craters and burning hot beaches to find out how the Canon EOS 5D Mark II DSLR camera performs. Have the good features, such as noise-free images and the wide viewfinder of the primary EOS 5D, been enhanced? And, equally important: have the inferior features, like the insufficient auto focus and dust-prone aspect of the original, been addressed?

Canon Photo Gallery: PowerShot A2000 IS

Dennis Hissink : 2009-01-12 23:30:00
Canon PowerShot A2000 IS Gallery : Canon's latest series of PowerShot A cameras has undergone a change, internally as well as externally. The Canon A2000 IS is an entry-level compact camera with emphasis on user-friendliness and simplicity, and has certainly gone through a design change. For example, the handgrip has disappeared and a large-sized screen has replaced the optical viewfinder. Besides all of this, the manual setting possibilities have been restricted considerably, leaving only the long shutter option at hand, which seems to bring about a loss of the unique features of the PowerShot A-cameras. On the other hand, the Canon A2000 offers many innovative image solutions which add to the overall image quality of this camera.
