Bluetooth wireless specification

Dennis Hissink : 2009-12-22 12:45:12
Low energy Bluetooth wireless specification : The Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) announced the adoption of Bluetooth wireless technology, which is the hallmark feature of the Bluetooth Core Specification Version 4.0. As an enhancement, Bluetooth low energy technology opens entirely new markets for devices requiring low cost and low power wireless connectivity with this evolution in Bluetooth wireless technology that will enable a plethora of applications - some not even possible or imagined today. Many markets such as healthcare, sports and fitness, security, and home entertainment will be enhanced with the availability of small coin-cell battery powered wireless products and sensors now enabled by Bluetooth wireless technology.

Bluetooth 3.0 Technology

Mark Peters : 2009-04-28 20:51:12
Bluetooth Technology 3.0 : From its annual All Hands Meeting in Tokyo this week, the Bluetooth SIG formally adopted Bluetooth Core Specification Version 3.0 + High Speed (HS), or Bluetooth 3.0. This latest iteration of the short-range wireless technology fulfills the consumers’ need for speed while providing the same wireless Bluetooth experience - faster. Manufacturers of consumer electronics and home entertainment devices can now build their products to send large amounts of video, music and photos between devices wirelessly at speeds consumers expect. Bluetooth 3.0 gets its speed from the 802.11 radio protocol. The inclusion of the 802.11 Protocol Adaptation Layer provides increased throughput of data transfers rates of 24 Mbps.
