Digit predicted Micro Four Thirds System : Remember last year where we linked to the publication of Kai Thon, test manager of DIWA Awards and managing the DIWA Labs? Kai published an article about the possible development of a digital SLR camera without mirror box. After reading that article I did remember a conversation with one of the engineers of a certain brand that is member of the digital camera industry. He was just thinking out loud and stated "why would we keep the concept of a SLR camera like it is now? We now have the change of changing the basic ideas of a system camera, so …". And indeed, the digital SLR camera today is more or less the same concept as an analogue camera some decades ago. Micro Four Thirds System it is!

Rob Galbraith gives SanDisk card best ranking : SanDisk Extreme flash memory cards swept performance ratings in seven of the current top professional-level digital single lens reflex cameras from manufactures; Canon and Nikon, according to the latest Flash memory card test conducted by Rob Galbraith, renowned imaging consultant, digital photography trainer and photojournalist. The SanDisk Extreme CompactFlash and Secure Digital memory cards outperformed all competitors in the tests. Rob Galbraith, who offers the results on his photography website, tested multiple memory brands, models and capacities of flash memory cards with each digital SLR camera to determine the fastest write times.

Apple MobileMe Internet Service : Apple introduced MobileMe, a new Internet service that delivers push email, push contacts and push calendars from the MobileMe service in the “cloud” to native applications on iPhone, iPod touch, Macs and PCs. MobileMe also provides a suite of elegant, ad-free web applications that deliver a desktop-like experience through any modern browser. MobileMe applications include Mail, Contacts and Calendar, as well as Gallery for viewing and sharing photos and iDisk for storing and exchanging documents online. “Think of MobileMe as ‘Exchange for the rest of us,’” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “Now users who are not part of an enterprise that runs Exchange can get the same push email, push calendars and push contacts that the big guys get.”
