New Toshiba flash memory cards announced : Additional enhancements to SDHC memory card lineup include ultrafast, Class 6 SDHC cards in 8GB and 16GB capacities. Toshiba, a leading innovator in flash memory card technologies and solutions introduced a new memory card line-up with the launch of a 16GB microSDHC card offering the largest capacity available in the market. At the same time, the company extended its range of industry-leading memory card solutions by adding ultra fast read/write 8GB and 16GB SDHC cards to its line-up. Mass production of the new Toshiba SDHC memory cards will start in December, with production of the new Toshiba micro SDHC slated to start in January 2009.

Toshiba TLP-X100U mobile projector : Toshiba’s Digital Products Division, a division of Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., announced the launch of the slim, 4-pound TLP-X100U mobile projector which features closed captioning functionality and 3LCD technology. “Toshiba added the slim, TLP-X100U 3LCD mobile projector with closed captioning to its lineup of projectors for use especially in education, professional settings or in noisy environments,” said Jane Poon, product marketing manager, Digital Products Division, Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc. “Toshiba is constantly bringing versatile, innovative presentation solutions to market to meet and exceed the needs of our customers, all at a low price point.”

Toshiba helps damaged forests : Toshiba America announced a donation to the Arbor Day Foundation to plant 80,000 trees in Southern California national forest areas damaged by wildfires last October. A check will be presented Friday by Toru Uchiike, TAI’s chairman and CEO, to John Rosenow, founder and chief executive of the Arbor Day Foundation, at the National Press Club in Washington D.C. Next spring, Toshiba volunteers will assist the Arbor Day Foundation in planting the new trees to help replace those lost to the fires. The tree planting will help prevent soil runoff and the growth of invasive plant species, while better protecting local watersheds and restoring indigenous forest habitats for wildlife.

Toshiba Camileo Pro : Toshiba launched an all-in-one digital still and video camera with eight different functions. The Toshiba Camileo Pro camera is equipped with a 7.0 megapixel CCD sensor and also functions as a webcam, digital voice recorder, MP3 player, mass storage device, eBook and motion detector. The Camileo Pro features 3x optical and 4x digital zoom and using interpolation, still images can be enhanced to the equivalent of 11 megapixel definition. The camera saves all still and video images in MPEG4 format, which is extremely storage-efficient and enables more data to be stored on the in-built 64MB memory. The Toshiba Camileo Pro also features an SD/MMC card slot for additional storage for photos, videos and music.

Toshiba digital photo frames : Toshiba launched its first digital photo frame. Providing an easy and stylish way to display your latest holiday snaps, the 7” Toshiba Tekbright photo frame has a display area of 720 x 480, a resolution of 800 x 400 pixels and a contrast ratio of 400:1. The high quality LCD panel with LED backlight displays sharp and vivid colours and contrasts. Pictures can be stored directly onto the device’s internal 16MB memory or via Compact Flash, SD, MMC, Memory Stick or XD storage devices. The frames can also display a multi-function slideshow of images, with transition effect, or show up to eight thumbnails pictures at once. Selecting the desired picture couldn’t be easier with the picture browsing function.

The Dynadocks help users get the best multimedia or cinematic experience from a notebook PC by enabling connection to multiple displays, 7.1 surround speakers and broadband networks. Available in silver or mist grey, the Toshiba Dynadocks have a sleek upright design. A onecable connection allows the Dynadock to connect with any notebook computer featuring a USB 2.0 port, making the set-up time virtually nil. All Dynadocks are Windows Vista compatible. The Dynadock USB Docking Station (DVI+VGA) are available from 30th August 2007 and the Dynadock HDMI version at the end of 2007, starting from €129.00 (Euro).
