Sony Alpha HVL-F58AM flash unit

Mark Peters : 2008-06-21 00:45:00
Sony Alpha F58AM flash unit : Sony is expanding its a (alpha) system of accessories to include the new Sony HVL-F58AM flash unit with exceptional features for versatile and flexible external lighting control. This new flash features a new and innovative Quick Shift Bounce system. It offers more creative ways to achieve lighting, flash and bounce angles you may not have been able to experience before. The flash head can pivot 90 degrees left and right on a horizontal axis in addition to the conventional up and down vertical adjustment. With this system, the camera and flash unit can keep the same orientation regardless of portrait or landscape shooting. This gives a higher degree of flexibility when arranging the direction of light.

Sony HDR-CX11E HD Camcorder

Mark Peters : 2008-06-21 00:10:00
Sony CX11E HD camcorder : Experience amazing Full HD video and photos with the beautifully styled Sony Handycam HDR-CX11E. The Sony CX11E is the world’s first ever camcorder to feature Smile Shutter. This Sony technology automatically captures crisp 7.6 megapixel photos when someone smiles. There’s no need to press the shutter button or interrupt the action: it’s great for spontaneously capturing relaxed, moments while you’re recording. In ‘Dual Capture’ mode, stills are captured whenever someone smiles during movie recording. Switching Smile Shutter to ‘Always On’ mode can even grab photos while you’re in record standby - whether you’re in movie or photo mode - so there’s no chance of missing that smile between takes.

Sony World Photography Awards 2008

Dennis Hissink : 2008-04-30 00:00:00
Sony World Photography Awards 2008 : Last week I stayed in Cannes for a few days. Sony invited me to witness the announcement of the winner of the World Photography Awards sponsored by Sony. Currently Sony put a lot of effort in conquering a digital SLR market share. Continuing the success of the Cybershot series compact cameras that made Sony famous worldwide, Sony took their first step into the DSLR market in May 2006 with the introduction of the Sony Alpha 100. One year later, in September, the Alpha 700 was born, a DSLR camera for the advanced or semi-pro photographer. In the mean time word had spread that Sony were developing a DSLR for the Pro. At the time of the CES 2008 the actual launch of the Sony DLSR-A200 took place.

Sony Alpha A350 Review

Mark Peters : 2008-04-24 19:15:00
Sony Alpha A350 Review : Sony announced a stunning amount of three new models for this year; the A200, A300 and the A350, and we haven't heard the last of Sony for this year. At first glance the three models look a lot alike and have similar specifications. Sony want to give the consumer complete freedom of choice and take this opportunity to cover the most important part of the market, the amateur segment, with a series of DLSR cameras. Quite a luxury in the world of photography land, which usually offers only one model per brand in a certain segment. Sony have started their storming. My first impression of the Sony A350 is an excellent one. It is a pleasant camera, quite well-organized and beautifully designed.

Sony TG3 camcorder

Ilse Jurriën : 2008-04-16 16:00:00
Sony Handycam HDR-TG3E camcorder : Now there’s no excuse for leaving your camcorder behind when you could catch the moment in sparkling HD. Sony’s sensationally styled Handycam HDR-TG3E is your perfect partner for nights out or weekends away. What’s more, it’s tough enough to keep up with today’s active lifestyles - whether you’re on the piste or paragliding. Great for city breaks when you don’t want to be weighed down, the TG3E slips effortlessly into a purse, bag or jacket pocket. Little bigger than your mobile phone, it’s the smallest, slimmest, lightest camcorder ever to feature 1920x1080 Full HD recording with crisp 5.1ch surround sound. It’s also the world’s first camcorder that features a body using pure titanium.

Sony Alpha 350 Photo Gallery

Dennis Hissink : 2008-03-21 08:00:00
Sony Alpha 350 photo gallery : We have had the Sony Alpha 350 for a short period of time in our office and took it with us to shoot some sample shots in Amsterdam, location Artis Zoo. At this day it was cloudy with some rain showers and here and there some sun shine, therefore the butterfly garden is one of the best places to shoot some test photos. The Sony DSLR A350 was introduced at the PMA 2008 in Las Vegas, a big event which we visit every year. The Sony Alpha 350 offers Sony’s new “Quick AF Live View” technology so you can frame photos and keep the fast auto-focusing speed common to other live-view systems. The new Sony A350 DSLR offers 14 Megapixels resolution and is one of the highest resolution DSLRs in this segment.

Sony underwater housing review

Karin Brussaard : 2008-03-17 00:09:00
Sony W200 underwater housing review : I am in Dahab, Egypt and I am taking the Sony DSC-W200 to the seaside in an exclusive manner: on a camel. The diving spots near Ras Abu Galum are only accessible by camel from Dahab. The trip will take approximately an hour and a half. This is a good opportunity to try the camera on land before taking it underwater. We meet the camels at a famous diving spot; the Blue Hole. The camels are still having their meal as we arrive and they react somewhat irritated when I get closer to take pictures of them. When they finish their meal, the diving gear is loaded onto them. Some camels get to carry four aqualungs and other camels receive two bags and the remaining diving equipment. > Read our complete Sony underwater housing review!

Sony Cybershot H50

Dennis Hissink : 2008-02-25 21:30:00
Sony Cybershot H50 : The feature-packed Sony Cyber-shot H50 combines high imaging quality with extensive manual functions for precise creative control. Compact and easy to handle, it features a tough, scratch resistant finish that enhances the camera’s premium feel. The powerful Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar 15x zoom lens makes the Sony H50 ideal for travel and other situations when you want crisp, clear close-ups without the penalty of carrying a big, bulky camera. The large, high-contrast 3-inch Clear Photo LCD Plus screen tilts up or down, adding an extra dimension of creative freedom when framing shots at any angle. There’s also an electronic viewfinder that provides a convenient alternative to framing shots with the LCD screen.
