Olympus E30 Test photos : Last month, the Olympus E30 was officially introduced. The introduction came quite soon after having seen a pre-production model at the Photokina. The Olympus E-30 digital SLR camera is in fact an Olympus E-3 for the demanding amateur who does not need a housing suitable for heavy use and difficult circumstances. In addition, the camera features several interesting novelties on the creative side. The built-in Art filters replace the use for special lenses or filters, or editing the picture afterwards. The reproduction quality of the monitor found on the back of the camera has been improved and the screen has been slightly enlarged to 2.7-inch.

Olympus E-30 digital SLR camera : For many, the pursuit of artistic expression is the essence of creative photography. With the Olympus E-30, this objective is closer to reality than ever. The stunning new model joins the ranks of the Four Thirds System-based E-System line-up, incorporating an inspiring range of Art Filters that support the photographer’s vision. The filters let moods be conveyed that would otherwise only be possible through the use of special lenses, add-on filters or via complex image processing techniques. The effects can be seen on the 2.7” / 6.9cm free-angle HyperCrystal II LCD before shooting for perfect image composition. Ensuring an enjoyable photo experience, the monitor facilitates Live View framing ease from virtually any perspective.

Dennis Hissink : 2008-10-10 00:30:00
Olympus E-420 Komachi kit : Named after famous Japanese poet Ono no Komachi, who was renowned for her beauty, the Olympus E-420 Komachi Kit certainly lives up to its namesake. Olympus brings together the E-420 body with the ZUIKO DIGITAL 25mm 1:2.8 pancake lens to present a combination that cuts a decidedly elegant figure. The size and weight advantages inherent with the Four Thirds System are clearly demonstrated in this kit. The camera body and lens pairing measures in at a total length of just 76.5mm - which makes it the most compact D-SLR set-up in the world, and together they weigh merely 475g. As such, high quality miniaturised optics that deliver maximum D-SLR brilliance can be taken along and enjoyed anywhere with ease.

Olympus digital cameras at Photokina

Ilse Jurriën : 2008-10-03 09:30:00
Olympus Micro FourThirds camera concept at Photokina : Most surprising was the presentation of a twosome so-called Micro FourThirds system concept models at the Photokina 2008. However, it does not come across as a well thought-out strategy; on the contrary, it seems that Olympus wants to tickle us with something that in the end might not be available. At least, that is what it looks like to an outsider. However; when talking to various R&D employees of Olympus, the official statement is that Olympus doesn't find the time is right to present a camera fully based on the Micro FourThirds system. In order to develop a true compact Micro Four Thirds System camera with the highest possible image quality, Olympus takes its time, unlike Panasonic; since this company already presented a working camera with the aforementioned system.
