Ilse Jurriën : 2008-09-22 09:31:00
Meeting point for amateur photographers at photokina : fotocommunity’s slogan for photokina 2008 is “experiencing photography”. The stand of Germany’s largest Internet community for photography will be located in Hall 9, where it will serve as a central nexus and meeting point for dedicated amateur photographers. On an activity area measuring 700 square meters, fotocommunity will provide photokina visitors with a highly varied program that offers something for almost every photography enthusiast. The offerings include daily workshops and photo shoots, a free-of-charge Internet café in the lounge area, a big photo exhibition, daily sweepstakes with high-quality prizes, and the fotocommunity WorldConvention.

Digital SLR camera guides on DVD

Mark Peters : 2008-05-23 10:30:00
Digital SLR DVD camera guides : When it comes to professional photographers, or simply those with a serious passion for photo taking, there’s perhaps no greater thrill than buying a Single-Lens Reflex (SLR) camera. Known for being the most expensive digital cameras on the market, SLR cameras are also notorious for their highly detailed, extremely dull user manuals. Thanks to such lifeless manuals, people don’t learn their camera’s intricacies or, sometimes, even the basics. They fail to discover the magic they’re holding in their hands. Helping to navigate the complexities of these cameras is QuickPro, LLC, a company that started creating exciting color SLR camera DVD tutorials three years ago.

Camera tracks brain activity

Ilse Jurriën : 2008-05-06 11:15:00
Semiconductor camera implanted in mouse's brain : Japanese researchers have implanted a small camera inside a mouse's brain to see how memory is formed, in an experiment they hope to some day apply to humans to treat illnesses such as Parkinson's disease. The study, published in the "Journal of Neuroscience Methods" and "Sensors and Actuators," used a camera 3 mm (0.1 inch) long, 2.3 mm wide and 2.4 mm in depth, said Jun Ohta, professor at Nara Institute of Science and Technology in western Japan. Working with researchers at Kinki University, Ohta implanted the special semiconductor camera inside the hippocampus of the mouse's brain, designing the devise so that a screen showed blue light whenever the camera captured memory being recorded by the brain.
