Camera modules with Dynastron image sensor technology : Toshiba America Electronic Components, Inc., a committed leader that collaborates with technology companies to create breakthrough designs, announced sample availability for a new line of ultra-compact camera modules featuring its Dynastron image sensor technology. This new family of compact camera modules with Dynastron image sensor technology, which include the TCM9200MD, TCM9100MD and the TCM9000MD, were developed using Toshiba's chip scale camera module (CSCM) manufacturing technology and are the first to use through chip via (TCV) technology. CSCM allows the mounting and assembly of camera module components in the semiconductor wafer during the module's manufacture.

HD DVD notebooks from Toshiba : Toshiba’s Digital Product Division (DPD), a division of Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., announced that it has further expanded its lineup of HD DVD-ROM capable notebook computers to give users the industry’s fullest portfolio of high-definition mobile computing solutions mixing price points and screen sizes. These five HD DVD-based notebooks will be showcased this week during the DigitalLife tradeshow in New York at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in Booth (#621) this week. Toshiba files lawsuit in Germany : Toshiba Corporation announced that the Company filed a lawsuit in Germany against a German disc replicator of DVD discs. The suit was brought to the Dusseldorf Regional Court against EDD Bizz GmbH and its managing director, Mr. Denny Holwerda, as a means to halt infringement of some of Toshiba's DVD patents. Toshiba seeks injunctive relief and declaration that EDD is liable for damages resulting from its infringement of Toshiba's DVD patents. Toshiba licenses patents essential for meeting DVD format specifications. EDD has not entered into license agreements with Toshiba or the DVD6C Licensing Group, and has engaged in the manufacture and sales of DVD video discs in Germany without permission.

In the new structure, pillars of stacked memory elements pass vertically through multi-stacked layers of electrode material and utilize shared peripheral circuits. The innovative design is a potential candidate technology for meeting future demand for higher density NAND flash memory. Typically, advances in memory density reflect advances in process technology.
