Tamron AF18-250mm lens : Mr. Morio Ono, of Tamron Co., Ltd., announced that the company has released the Tamron AF18-250mm F/3.5-6.3 Di-II LD Aspherical (IF) Macro, a lightweight, compact and ultra high power zoom lens designed exclusively for digital SLR cameras with APS-C sized image sensors with a Built-In Motor for Nikon. The AF18-250mm F/3.5-6.3 Di-II LD Aspherical (IF) Macro is the ultimate high power zoom lens boasting the world’s greatest zoom ratio of 13.9X, a milestone that Tamron, the pioneer of high power zoom lenses, has achieved by commanding its technologies to further expand the capabilities of high power zoom lenses. The Tamron AF18-250mm lens will be available from December 2007 in Japan.

Scrapbook contest : Tamron announced the 2007 photo contest for scrapbookers called “An Emotional Appeal.” This marks the second year that Tamron is conducting a photo contest aimed at the scrapbook enthusiast. “We received more than 1,300 images last year in response to our contest announcement,” stated Stacie Errera, Chief Marketing Officer for Tamron. “Andre Costantini, a professional freelance photographer living in New York City, our contest judge, had to work incredibly hard to choose a winner and just 20 favorites from the gamut of emotional images that ran from tears of joy and frustration, to grins of all sorts and much more. This was one of the most fun contests that Tamron has run and we absolutely wanted to do it again.”
