Nero 8 films in Blu ray format : Nero announced that Nero 8 users will be able to playback their favorite movies in Blu-ray (BD-ROM) disc format in a future update of Nero 8. BD-ROM playback in Nero 8 will provide users with access to a wide range of commercially available Blu-ray disc titles. The Blu-ray disc format provides users with the ultimate high-definition entertainment experience. Nero 8 supports crystal-clear 5.1 audio in Dolby Digital, DTS and high-definition audio in Dolby TrueHD and the uncompressed studio quality PCM soundtracks (up to 7.1 channels) that are found in many Blu-ray titles. To enable the ground breaking interactive BD-J features in Nero 8, the company has embraced Sun Microsystems Java technology.

Pantone Goe system creates serious problems : Managing director and trend watcher VIGC (Flemish Innovation Center for Graphic Communication) Eddy Hagen has looked into the newly launched Pantone Goe system and has spoken to Pantone Inc. at Graph Expo in Chicago. “Although the new Pantone Goe system offers some nice features, especially the color communication using Lab, there are some serious issues in terms of design and documentation. We want to warn users of possible pitfalls when applying Pantone Goe system.” comments Eddy Hagen. “We sent out an open letter to Pantone and notification to our members but find it important enough to share this with other users in the market.”

General Imaging Chairman & CEO Hiroshi “Hugh” Komiya and Rene Buhay, Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing for the Americas, met with more than 40 journalists and emphasized the importance of Latin America to the new camera brand’s long-term vision.
