Nikon Camera Control Pro 2 software : Nikon Camera Control Pro 2 software remotely controls most functions of Nikon digital SLRs from a computer that is connected via USB cable or through wired or wireless LAN using a wireless transmitter. Advanced functions of the new Nikon D3 and D300 such as Viewer for preview and selection of images prior to transfer to a computer, Live view function and Picture Control System are supported. It also supports workflows of Nikon’s exclusive photofinishing software Capture NX (optional) and browser and viewer software ViewNX. In addition to the D3 and D300, Camera Control Pro 2 is compatible with the Nikon D2 series, D1 series, D200, D100, D80, D70 series, D50 and D40 series.

Nikon Picture Control System : Nikon is pleased to announce the development of their new Picture Control System, which enables users to easily adjust images as desired, and to obtain the same picture tones with different cameras at the same settings. Picture Control is a new function to adjust images that responds to users’ various requirements. It enables selection and adjustment to create pictures easily according to the skills of users ranging from novices to professionals. When settings are the same, even with different cameras, you can achieve the same picture tone. To make the most of the Picture Control System’s advantages, Nikon is also planning to offer “Option Picture Control” to be downloaded from Nikon websites.

In addition, .Mac Web Gallery visitors can download high quality images for printing and even contribute photos using a standard web browser or email. Other new .Mac features include a tenfold increase in .Mac storage to 10GB, support for personal domains for iWeb websites and enhancements to .Mac Mail. “.Mac Web Gallery is an awesome way to share photos and movies on the Internet with friends and family,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO.

Color correction software Power Stroke : Digital Film Tools announces Power Stroke version 1.0, a stroke based color correction, colorization and special effects plug-in. Graphic designers and artists in mind, Power Stroke introduces a simple, interactive stroke-based interface to quickly and intuitively perform targeted adjustments. Instead of meticulously selecting regions or hand-painting masks, regions of interest are isolated by drawing a few simple brush strokes with adjustments then made only in those areas. Strokes can be assigned multiple corrections and effects such as color correction, recoloring or desaturation, colorization of black and white images, blur and fill light.
