Sigma 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 DC OS lens

Nic Rossmüller : 2007-03-08 16:00:00
Sigma 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 DC OS lens : The Sigma Corporation is pleased to announce the launch of the new Sigma 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 DC OS lens. This 11.1 times high magnification zoom ratio lens is exclusively designed for digital SLR cameras and is capable of covering a wide range of focal lengths from wide angle to telephoto. It is equipped with Sigma’s own unique OS (Optical Stabilizer) technology. This technology uses two sensors inside the lens to detect vertical and horizontal movement of the camera and works by moving an optical image stabilizing lens group, to effectively compensate camera shake. It also automatically detects movement of the camera and compensates camera shake when shooting moving subjects such as motor sports.

Nikon D40 compatible Sigma lenses

Nic Rossmüller : 2007-01-07 02:30:01
Nikon D40 compatible Sigma lenses : The New Nikon D40 is the first Nikon body without a built in auto focus motor. This means that the any lens used with the D40 will need the auto focus motor built into the lens. These lenses are called AFS lenses. Sigma has a large line of compatible AFS type lenses. Most of these lenses have the HSM motor in them with the Exception of the 80-400mm f4.5-5.6 EX DG OS. The auto ISO feature makes the most of available light by automatically setting the camera’s light sensitivity from the available ISO range of 200 to 1600. The camera’s ISO can also be set manually between this range, plus HI 1 (one step over 1600), allowing you to capture beautiful pictures even in low-light situations without a flash.
