Sharp television recycling

Ralf Jurrien : 2007-04-06 13:21:00
Sharp television recycling : Sharp, a worldwide leader in flat-panel Liquid Crystal Display Televisions (LCD TV), is expanding efforts to help protect the environment with a month-long recycling program that celebrates Earth Day. During the month of April, any customer purchasing a new Sharp LCD TV with a screen size of 37-inches or larger through Sharp’s online retail site, Sharp Direct (sharpdirectusa.com), can have their old television recycled for free, as long as the purchase is of equal or greater screen size. This promotion joins other environmentally-friendly initiatives that Sharp has implemented throughout the company and in many of the products they manufacture and sell.

Sharp Aquos 108 LCD TV

Mark Peters : 2007-01-08 16:00:00
Sharp Aquos 108 LCD TV : Sharp has successfully developed a 108-inch LCD TV, the world’s largest, and will exhibit a prototype at 2007 international CES. This 108-inch LCD screen, which measures 93.9-inches wide by 52.9-inches high, features a Black Advanced Super View Full-Spec HD LCD panel manufactured at Sharp’s Kameyama Plant No. 2, the first plant in the world to use 8th generation glass substrates. With this development, Sharp has demonstrated that it is possible to produce LCD TVs in sizes ranging from 13-inches to super-large sizes like the 108-inch, and that LCD is the predominant display device in the flat-panel television market, which is forecast to grow dramatically in the future.
